Before the turkey is roasted to perfection, this coming weekend, I have to clean, tidy and straighten our home in preparation for Thanksgiving.  This week our home has been bustling with the usual buzz of our family - school, meetings, activities - thrown in this week excitement over our imminent kitchen renovation.  In a few weeks, we'll be gutting our kitchen and finally updating our cabinets, counter, flooring, installing a dishwasher and new sink!  But, in the meantime, it's business as usual around here and that includes giving the kitchen (and the rest of the house) a deep cleaning before Thanksgiving dinner is served.

Mr. Clean Rescued Me

Mr. Clean has the muscle and the brawn to help clean up and be guest-ready, effortlessly.

Thanksgiving Tidying Tips #15MinuteReno

  • Keep kitchen counters & islands sparkling and shiny with Mr. Clean Concentrated Cleaner
  • Use a Magic Eraser to clean the grease and grime off the kitchen sink
  • Use a Magic Eraser to clean soap scum off your shower door
  • Try Mr. Clean Concentrated Cleaner on hardwood floors to get them gleaming again
  • Swipe away scuffs, and dirt off of baseboards, walls, and doors with a Magic Eraser
I fully admit that the kitchen we are about to replace is rather icky.  It's a 40 year old kitchen, the floor is damaged, the counters are damaged and the sink and tap is just worn out.  It's been caulked a few too many times that not much can rescue it at this point.  But, I'll be giving that old kitchen a once over with Mr. Clean concentrated cleaner and magic eraser. If all goes according to plan the next family get-together at our home should be in a brand new kitchen!

I love these Mr. Clean 15 Minute Reno tips.  I don't want to be cleaning more than I have to be, especially when I could be spending time with my family instead, which I imagine many readers agree with.

I actually do a big Fall Cleaning to prep for Thanksgiving, just like I do a big Spring Cleaning in the spring - baseboards, blinds, cupboards, closets, floors, etc. We spend most of our time outside in the summer, and then slowly adjust once school goes back in, but our weather stays so nice in September we still aren't "homebodies" yet. The last week of September starts to feel more fall-like and we usually get at least a few days of rain between then and Thanksgiving, so that's when I get to work getting the house spic and span again. One of my children's birthdays is right before Thanksgiving, so we (mostly me) do it all before then, in time for her party, and then the week in between we add all our fall decorations in time for Thanksgiving dinner. It's so much nicer/easier to decorate a clean house! :-)
