We Took the Banana Boat SunComfort Sand Challenge

Is that really you?  Is it really you...summer sunshine and warm temperatures?  Dare we say that summer is knocking on our doorstep!  With summer comes longer days with sometimes over 13 hours of sunshine.  Heavenly isn't it?

Winter-weary Canadians everywhere are craving the heat and the sun.  It's time to once again, turn our attention to making sure our skin is protected while at the same time enjoying that summer sun. (Though, sun protection is something we should consider year-round.)  Sun protection is a big concern of mine,  as we have a family history of skin cancer.  Yet, at the same time, a huge pet-peeve of mine is sticky sunscreen.

The Beach Beckons
Living in the Great Lakes Basin is awesome, especially in the summer when the lakes warm up enough for us to spend a few fun days at the beach.  What we might not love is when that sandy beach ends up sticking to our skin and making us uncomfortable.

Banana Boat SunComfort Spray Sunscreen protects my family while in the sun, and, at the same time offers a non-sticky alternative.

Taking the Banana Boat SunComfort Challenge
We started our challenge by pouring some blue sand (so, it's simple for you to see)  into a container that was easy to roll our arm in the sand.
Next, we gave each arm an even spritz of sunscreen.  On one side we used Banana Boat SunComfort Sunscreen, the other side was a comparable sunscreen which we picked up at Walmart.  Both are 50+ SPF and offers broad spectrum UVB/ UVA protection.

My assistant let each arm dry for a couple of minutes,
after we rubbed the sunscreen in.

Then, one arm at a time we pressed and rubbed them into the blue sand.

I used my hand to wipe away the sand that had been pressed onto her forearms.

The Results are In

As, you can see in our test the Banana Boat SunComfort Sunscreen Spray really does make a big difference when it comes to preventing sand from sticking to your skin.

Banana Boat SunComfort Sunscreen Spray has many features and benefits in addition to helping prevent sand from sticking to skin.
  • Relieves dryness
  • Good for everyday use
  • Water resistant (80 minutes)
  • Broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection
  • Available in SPF 30 and 50+
Don't forget to apply Banana Boat sunscreen at least 15-30 minutes before going outdoors - especially during the hours of 10am and 4pm.  Also, wearing a hat and protective clothing is a must.

We wish everyone a wonderful summer season!  Enjoy the summer sun and keep a bottle or two of Banana Boat SunComfort Sunscreen Spray handy at all times!
