Win a Sensitive Skin Laundry Pack ($45 value) from P&G! #PGMom

When my husband and I got married twenty years ago, one of the first things I was told by him (and by his mother) was that the only laundry detergent I could use on his clothing was Tide.   No exceptions and no cheating!  Being one to always push the limits, I tried using another detergent and he knew right away.  My husband is allergic to all detergents, but Tide. And, this was long before we have the wide range of scent options that we have today.  We are a Tide family, no if ands or buts.

Now, my husband can be rest-assured that he'll never have a reaction to the laundry detergent that I use, thanks to Tide Free & Gentle.  And, now I can still use my favourite laundry alternative - Tide Pods Free & Gentle.

With Tide Pods Free & Gentle, you don’t have to sacrifice cleaning performance for gentleness. The detergent offers the best of both worlds in a convenient pre-measured, single use pac.

Do you suffer with sensitive skin?  Leading Canadian dermatologist, Dr. Sandy Skotnicki, knows that sensitive skin can be painful, irritating and frustrating. Here are her top tips to help soothe and prevent irritable skin:
  1. Avoid fragrances and or botanicals in your daily washing, soaps, detergents and moisturizers, as they can be both irritants and allergens. Test out a detergent like the new Tide Pods Free & Gentle. For people with sensitive skin seeking a detergent free of dyes and perfumes, Tide Pods Free & Gentle provides a deep clean that leaves behind no dyes or perfumes on fabrics, for gentleness on skin.
  2. Stick to non-foaming “soaps” in the shower.  They do not strip the skin of its natural oils.
  3. Only shower or bath once a day. Water dries out the skin.
  4. Make sure that you keep bathing times to under 15 minutes and avoid using hot water.
  5. After bathing, pat dry. Rubbing your body with a towel will remove moisture and further dry out your skin.
Canadian friends, please enter to win a Sensitive Skin Laundry Pack below.  The prize pack will include the following (prices are at the discretion of the retailer).

I think we all have sensitive skin in my family. One way I deal with it is by using (when I can) products without chemicals etc.

I also take alot of Omega 3 oils orally which seem to keep the itching down.

I have sensitive allergic skin. I use as many unscented products as possible, and have to be very careful with detergents, soaps, cleaners, lotions, shampoo, etc. If I'm able to find a dye free unscented variety, that is what I always choose.

One of my children has sensitive skin and we try to bathe her only every few days as per doctor's recommendation - it seems to help keep her skin from drying out. We also use sensitive baby soaps on her skin even though she is not a baby any more - we have lots on hand for her baby sister anyway, and they seem to be the most gentle products on her skin.
