One food item that I began purchasing earlier in the spring was Maple Leaf Natural Selections PROTINIS. Both my daughter and I had taken note (when watching tv and saw an advertisement come on for PROTINIS), that PROTINIS would be a good choice for her school lunches.
PROTINIS are portable, which makes them perfect for a lunch bag. My daughter prefers to take her lunch from home, consisting of fresh foods. We stock up on lots of fruits, veggies, and yogurts, yet she was lacking in protein. It was always a concern that she was developing a habit of not including protein in her diet.
PROTINIS offer a complete protein
A complete protein contains all the essential amino acids that a person needs. Examples of a complete protein are: milk, fish, eggs, meat and poultry. An incomplete protein is missing one or more of the nine amino acids that a body can not produce on its own. Examples of an incomplete protein are vegetables, nuts, grains and legumes.
The tasty chicken bites in PROTINIS are a perfectly convenient way to consume a complete protein, without any hassle.
PROTINIS are Perfect for Snacking and for Lunch, too
While, I think that PROTINIS are a pretty fabulous snack on the run,( perfect for my daughter to consume between class periods a school) I also think they are a great lunch time helper. We enjoy a lot of salads for lunch. Adding PROTINIS to a salad makes your ordinary lunch - extraordinary.
For this salad we mixed romaine hearts with croutons, bacon pieces and organic caesar dressing. Then, we simply added PROTINIS Sweet Thai Chili and it was delicious. And, then I thought - I always (really) enjoy a chicken caesar wrap that I get at my local sandwich shoppe - I think I can duplicate that yummyness here at home using a package of PROTINIS. And, it was absolutely awesome! I warmed up the wrap for a few seconds in the microwave, added some shredded cheese to my salad mix & PROTINIS and BAM!
PROTINIS is now a staple in our home. My daughter and I both love them. I am especially happy that she is now getting a complete protein just by adding PROTINIS to her lunches. There are many varieties, so she'll never become bored or stagnant with her lunch time and snacking routine.
Look for PROTINIS at your grocery store in the refrigerated section. I had to ask store personnel for the exact location when looking to purchase. It seems most stores will have PROTINIS in either the deli or commercial meat area (bacon).
PROTINIS™ snacks are available in eight flavours including Oven Roasted Chicken, Sweet Thai Chili Chicken, Mild Salsa Chicken, Honey Garlic Chicken, Oven Roasted Chicken and Cranberry, Oven Roasted Chicken and Superfruit, Oven Roasted Chicken and Mango, and Oven Roasted Chicken and Apple. They are available at major grocery stores across Canada and retail for approximately $4.99. Each retail pack comes with two PROTINIS™ snacks.
PROTINIS are a really good choice for my teen for a quick snack or a complete lunch, and everyone else in the family, too!
We love PROTINIS so much, that we want to share with our readers.
