Do a Good Deed in April! #PGMom #Cleanwater #Giveaway

We all can do our part to improve our homes, work, communities and the world around us.

Last week, I received the dreaded call from school saying my child had to come home due to bad behaviour.  Since, he was being sent home, I wasn't going to let it become tv or game time.  He was going to spend his time at home doing something productive.  My children already are great helpers around the home, they just know their duties and are generally pretty good about getting them done.  On that afternoon, it was important that he understood the importance of being a good community member -  be it at school or at home.

Good Deeds

I gave Matthew a garbage bag and sent him out to pick up garbage which had accumulated on our lawn over the winter months.  He came back in to show me his haul, yet, I sent him right back out to move on to our neighbour, and then the neighbour after that - all the way down our street.  I didn't want him to see it as a punishment, but rather a chance for him to better the world around him, by performing a good deed.  Matthew and I talked about the difference he made in our neighbourhood, and how he did his part in keep our town and our river clean.

What would you do if you didn't have clean drinking water?
