Taking a Step Back in Time at Medieval Times & Giveaway Announcement! #MedievalTimes

For a moment, take a step back in time with me, my Lady and my Lord.  Step back to a time which chivalry was alive and well, a time where jousting, horsemanship and swordplay were the norm.   Step back to a time where you will find yourself in the midst of an eleventh century castle.  Join me in a place where knights, a king and a princess walk amongst us.  Join me at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
is Education and Entertainment Rolled into One

Over the last thirty years, families, couples, and school students have found themselves transformed back to the eleventh century, seated amongst the King's Court at Medieval Times.  Recently, our family enjoyed Medieval Times in Toronto - and, the experience was incredible!

Knight Matthew & Princess Jillian and Emily
The Toronto Castle is located near the downtown, there is parking on site and we found it really easy to travel to and locate.    The doors open about 75 minutes before the show begins, the seating is assigned and guests are seated according to the knight they will be cheering for.   Once through the registration, we were free to roam and explore The Toronto Castle.

Just before we were invited to enter the theatre, we gathered around where the King called upon people who were there celebrating a special milestone.  We loved this, and have made a mental note to go back for birthdays, and include our children in the special ceremony.

Each cheering section was called in one at a time, there was many staff members along the way to direct us to our appropriate seating area and cheering section.  We were seated in the Black and White Knight section, and it was time for the show to begin!

Medieval Times is the Ultimate Dinner Theatre

As soon as your seated in your cheering section, the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament experience begins.  Everything was perfect from the first minute right through to the end.

Seated and ready to begin the tournament and dinner.

Amazingly talented and gorgeous animals.

In addition to chicken, there was ribs and potatoes.  Delicious!
The food was served in courses and everything was absolutely delicious and filling.  I loved that the entire meal was paced well with the show.  It was fun eating with our hands, as there aren't any utensils at Medieval Times.

The tournament was non-stop action and fun.  The special effects were great and it really did feel like you had taken a step back to the eleventh century.  We cheered loudly for our knight, but were just as excited for the other knights, too.  It was most exciting when our knight was victorious.

Learning and Fun come Together at Medieval Times

My oldest daughter went with her class in grade four,  (grade four students study medieval times in social studies, in Ontario) as their class field trip.  Last spring my son's scouting troop went as a year end celebration.  They hold an educational session prior to the tournament for groups of school children.  Medieval Times is an interactive learning experience for all ages.

{To find out more about the educational element of Medieval Times,
visit the Parent's and Educator's Portal.}

The costumes were fantastic, even for the horses.
We loved our time at the Toronto Castle.  A trip to Medieval Times is family fun.  Afterwards, we had  conversations with our children about the Medieval time period - visiting is a great way to spark an imagination and interest in a time so long ago.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament wrap fun and learning up in one, and for that reason Medieval Times is awarded the PTPA seal of approval.

Our children have not stopped talking about the fearless knights, the sword battles, the horses, and the amazing falcon, since our visit. I can see another visit in the near future.  It is often difficult to find an event, or place to visit,  that our whole  family will enjoy. (our children are aged 16, 10 and 7)

Medieval Times is the perfect evening out for all members of the family!

Our Knight was victorious!
