During our two weeks away, we spend a lot of time out and about, meaning meals and snacks are often eaten on the road at picnic areas or at the beach. A little planning and thought before heading out, makes packing healthy eating options, simple.
Start with purchasing a good sized cooler which will accommodate the size of your family. Then load up your cooler with tasty, simple food options. We like homemade sandwiches, which I can prepare either in the morning or evening prior. Some of our favourite varieties are egg and tuna salad, which keep beautifully in the cooler. I also cut up carrot & celery sticks, which make perfect dipping snacks (we all know that kids love these). We also pack granola bars and some fresh fruit to keep us satisfied.
