I find it almost hard to believe that summer is right around the corner, but it is. We are so excited to once again set our sights on getting to our cottage, which is situated on the gorgeous shores of Georgian Bay. Cottage days are spent outdoors, exploring all that the Bruce Peninsula has to offer. Our family loves soaking up the rays and frolicking in the crystal, clear water. We can easily spend the whole day playing and swimming on the beach. There is nothing better than a day at the beach, including a picnic, ice cream treat, and staying to watch the sun as it sets across the horizon.
I love how people quietly take in the gorgeous hues of the sunset from the beach, or break wall. The sun sets with amazing streaks of orange, red and purple across the sky. Watching those summer sunsets are moments of serenity, which last the whole year through.
This summer, I'm really wanting to get the opportunity to go out on a sunset cruise. My in laws have gone out a few times and speak highly of the experience. They say sitting out a couple of kilometers from shore, the world is silent, and watching the sun drop off the horizon is the most peaceful and tranquil experience. We love the exhilaration of boating and getting out on the open water, yet we take boat safety and licensing very seriously. It is important to us, to know that the operator of the cruise is following the rules and properly licensed, especially when we are taking our children out. I found out all I needed to know by taking this quick quiz, and realized I may not know as much about boating as I thought I did.
A sunset cruise is definitely near the top of my bucket list, and I hope this July we will find ourselves boarding a boat to sail off! I think I'll take my camera, but, may just want to soak up the moments and not bother with clicking pictures and just rely on my minds eye.
Have you ever taken a sunset cruise?
