Welcome to Summer Camp #MuskokaWoods2013

Summer Sleepover Camp is the highlight of the year for two of my three children - soon to be three of three children.  This coming summer my oldest daughter will be a CIT, and my younger two children are campers. (my youngest is a first time camper)  I only went to camp once as a child, as did my husband.  Yet, we both have memories of laughter, fun and acceptance from that one time at camp.  As late winter rolls around, we make it a priority to make sure that our children attend summer camp each year.  Those summertime memories last our children the whole year through.

Grinning ear to ear at drop off

Camp is so much more than just a week away from home during summer break.  Summer camp is where friends are made and everyone is accepted.    Summer camp is where the days begin with a polar dip and end with vespers and a campfire.   It is about finding out something about yourself and who you want to be,  and the  freedom to run and sing and play.   Summer camp is the epitome of childhood fun and experience.

Last spring, I was first introduced to Muskoka Woods, which  is a Christian Youth Resort, located on the shores of Lake Rosseau, Ontario.    Muskoka Woods is situated on 1000 acres of land, with 2800 feet of shore line, and, offers over fifty programs and activities for children aged seven to seventeen.   In other words, Muskoka Woods looks pretty darned awesome.

One of  the aspects of camp which my kids always rave about is the food.  It just tastes better at camp.  Muskoka Woods offers campers three buffet-style meals a day, which includes a salad bar, and a daily vegetarian option.  Muskoka Woods is happy to accommodate any children with special dietary needs.

Days at Muskoka Woods are full of adventure and activities.  Take you pick from tennis, volleyball, a dedicated gymnastics facility, or a driving range (just to name a few of the sports activities).  Nights at Muskoka Woods are restful when hunkered down  in a fully enclosed cabin with bunk bed style sleeping arrangements.

Registration is now open for Muskoka Woods 2013 Summer Camping Season.  The experiences at Muskoka Woods could change a life, in the very least provide memories to last a lifetime!

I love how you have your kids in camp - it's such a great experience. And CIT, that is awesome, I always wanted to be one, but never had the opportunity.

I've gone to camp since I could remember and my parents actually met at the same camp!

The first year my brother went he cried when my parents came to pick him up (after two weeks, he was 6) so they left him for another two.

Now, we take our kids there after the summer campers leave. My kids started at 5 months old! LOVE CAMP. Can't say enough great things about it and how it positively shaped me into the person I am today.

So glad to hear that you too have had such great experiences with them!

I never got to go to camp as a camper but did get to go as a camp counselor and it was a blast! Best summer ever! My eldest has gone to camp with her school but not to summer camp yet. Waiting for the youngest to be a bit older... I would feel better sending them together. :)

I went away to camp a couple times as a kid and I can't wait for my kids to get to experience it for themselves!
