Say hello to my Chocolate Dream Cake! #LMDconnector

Maybe you've been reading my blog for all this time and not realized that your are reading the blog of the Queen of Boxed Cake Mixes?  I am the Queen, so much so, that the gal who works at the checkout stand at my local grocer even laughs when she sees a cake mix on the conveyor belt with my grocery order.  And, when they come on sale - oh my, it's time to stock up!

Do you realize that using a boxed cake mix can be the base of many delectable delights?

Nothing says spring to me, more than friends and family getting together and celebrating.  Celebrations are abundant in the spring time - new brides, new babies and new beginnings.  Many years ago, my friend and co-worker made this cake for a celebration of another co-worker having a baby, it would also be perfect to celebrate MOMs on Mother's Day.

This recipe is an oldie, but a goodie.    I even have the recipe card which she wrote it out on for me.  Today,  people would just email a link and there is something so special to me about still having this handwritten recipe from Val.   I was so happy to find the recipe card tucked away in my cookbook drawer.

{Begin with one box of Betty Crocker Chocolate Cake mix, add one package of chocolate pudding.  Follow instruction to make the cake, and bake in a bundt pan.    When the cake is cooled, make whipped topping by following directions.  Incorporate a package of softened cream cheese and a quarter cup of white sugar.  (It may be a little lumpy)  Then poor it into the center of the cake.  Before serving sprinkle icing sugar on top of the cake and heat a can of cherry pie filling with a quarter cup of water.  Drizzle over the cake and enjoy.}

In a couple of weeks the Quebec SEVEC exchange kids come to Ontario.  (You may remember that Emily went to Quebec in February)  The Friday evening they arrive, all families are invited to attend a pot luck supper,  to welcome the students to Southern Ontario.    I hadn't decided on what I was taking yet...until I was reacquainted with this recipe.

Next time you walk down the baking aisle, don't forget to pick up a box of Betty Crocker Cake mix and give it a try for yourself.  There is a world of possibilities inside that cake box!  Betty Crocker is part of the Life Made Delicious family of fine products.

Take a minute to follow Life Made Delicious on facebook and twitter and keep current on all their promos and news.

Don't forget to look for specially marked boxes of General Mills cereal which include coupons for Dairy Queen and Orange Julius.  Please check out my post to find all the details.

I hope you enjoy a special treat while celebrating with friends and family this Spring!
