It's a Tail of Love #PGMom {Contest Details from Iams}

Many of my readers will recall the story of  how our little orange kitten came to our home.  What I haven't said much about is how much Purrcilla has struggled to regain her health, how it was often touch and go and we just didn't know if she was going to make it.

I am beyond thrilled to say that I think we have turned the corner.  Last week our vet administered her yearly shots and said (while shaking his head) that Purrcilla is a true miracle.   The odds were stacked against our little kitten, yet here she is!  For the first time ever she wasn't running a fever and the infection in her leg is minimal.  Her hind leg is still broken, but she has let it come down to touch the floor and she is limping, but using it.  The vet said amputation won't be needed.    Two months of constant care has paid off big time - we have a kitten, who we hope will be with our family for years to come.    I am sure that Purrcilla will return the love, which we've shown her.  She already is by following us around and rubbing against our legs, and she is no longer as scared of us when we get too close.

I can't forget to share how our dog, Roxy cared for our sick kitten as well.   Roxy kept a keen eye on Purrcilla, snuggled up with her and when she began feeling  better, Roxy quickly became her playmate.

It's a Tail of Love

Share your story of unconditional love between you and your furry friend over this weekend.  The grand prize winner will be featured in the next Iams national advertising campaign, and win a years supply of Iams pet food.

Head over to Iams on facebook to submit your Iams Love Tail.  You must include a photo of your cat or dog,  a brief story of that unconditional love,  have used Iams within the last month and show that in your photo.   After the initial submitting phase of the contest is over, Iams will select 50 stories, 25 cats and 25 dogs as semi-finalists.  Then, from those semi-finalists it will be narrowed down to 10 finalists, 5 cats and 5 dogs.  During the month of April, Iams facebook fans will have the opportunity to choose their favourite story and the winner will be announced.

Submit your Love Tail

What is true love?

When we realized how sick our kitten was, we made the decision that we would see her through.  We could see she was a fighter, and we committed ourselves to give her a home where she could recover and thrive.  True love to us was making that commitment to Purrcilla.    In your submission share what makes your pet love unique.   How has Iams made a difference in your life?    How does your furry friend show  that they love you, and how do you show them that same love?

I can't wait to read your submitted stories.  Good luck!
