The days are cold and dreary. The snow is piling up and it is a great time for hibernation (at least for mom). While the children do love getting outdoors to play, I am very content to stay in and stay warm with my favourite hot beverage in hand, and watch them out the window.
But, before I set my internal clock to hibernate, our family took a road trip to the big city to catch Disney On Ice, along with my fellow #disneyjuniormom Sheri and her family.
The children had a great time going to the show together, even though we were a bit late and missed some of the first act. We met up at the subway platform and traveled downtown together. Then after the show we all went out to dinner. It was a really fun way for two families to spend a Saturday together and also enjoy something we all love-Disney! It gave daddies a chance to talk politics, mommies a chance to chat about blogging and kids a chance to discuss what Santa brought this year.
The show was exciting and full of lots of fun music. The kids sat memorized, enjoying every moment. (Yes, we bought them each the $12 bag of candy floss - but it did come with a cute hat.)

And, now here is what we have to look forward to during January at Disney Junior....
(it's a princess-dream-come-true all month long)
First and foremost, the highly anticipated series debut of Sofia the First. We got a little taste last month with a special sneak peak episode and ever since the young ones have been clamoring for more. Get ready Sofia the First fans as it is about to begin! Saturday, January 19th at 7PM (ET) is the series premier. Then, Sofia the First will find her permanent home on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30AM (ET)! I know one special little girlie who is not going to miss a single episode of Sofia the First.
Oh my goodness - how about a little warm up to Sofia the First? The all time classic Cinderella will be shown on Disney Junior Canada prior to Sofia the First on January 19th at 5:45PM (ET). Then on January 27th at 10:15AM (ET) be tuned in to catch Cinderella II: Dreams Come True.
So, there is lots of great programming coming up to keep us entertained as the cold winter wind blows. Yet, I've found a reason to venture out at the end of the month. Sofia the First Saturday.
Visit participating Indigo and Chapters on Saturday January 26th at 11 AM for a very special princess party. Sofia The First Saturday will include giveaways, book reading, crown colouring and even a photo opp in front of Castle of Enchancia. Check for a store near you and enjoy Sofia the First Saturday.
