We are officially on the countdown to Christmas. As of today there are 49 number of days until the kids will be bouncing off the walls with excitement, because Santa's arrival is imminent. I am not sure if it is just me, or has this year flown by faster than normal? It just seems like we were thinking about getting the children ready for back school and now the end of the calendar year is in view!
There are many things about the holiday season which I love. I enjoy visiting and getting together with family and friends. I love the tasty treats which accompany the holiday, and I take much joy in watching the magic of the season, twinkle in the eyes of my children. Then there are things about the season I could do without. The biggest issue is shopping for all those holiday gifts. I don't enjoy going to stores and fighting the crowds at the best of times, so the weeks leading up to the holidays is particularly stressing on me.
Thus, I am so thankful for the internet and online shopping, especially during this time of year! Yet, before an internet shopping frenzy can commence, I need to figure out what the kids are longing for, this Christmas.
My oldest daughter is the most difficult to buy for. She is extremely picky with just about everything in her life. Often for her, I find opting for a gift card from a couple of her favourite stores, is the only way to go. I would like to have actual gifts to hand to her on Christmas morning, yet, have learned that she is happier to receive a card, so she can purchase something which she will actually want.
Then, there is my youngest daughter. At six years old, she is still pretty easy to buy for (thank goodness). She loves all things girly, pink and especially playing with small character figures. Since, she is my youngest child, I have no problem purchasing toys with small pieces, as I no longer have to worry about choking hazards.
She loves cute little toys, such as sylvanian families for Christmas caravan. I know she would enjoy hours of imaginative play with that sweet little bunny family.
Now, that I have a few ideas figured out, I can start looking at price comparisons and start helping Santa to fill his sack!
