Learning comes to life with Cypher Kids Augmented Reality Cards #CypherKidsClub, #CBias

It amazes me how technology has changed the world which our children are growing up in, and experiencing.  Things are so very different from when I was a kid, and yet, so much remains the same.   It is just as equally a important for children to learn their ABC's and 123's, as it was in the days of yesteryear.

Flashcards Kicked Up a Notch

With all three of my children, I've found using flashcards to be a great learning tool.   Cypher Kids Augmented Reality Cards, are an exciting new type of flashcard, which works with your iPod touch, (4th generation) iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2 & 3.  Look for the i3D Interactive Cards at select WalMart locations across Canada.   Once you've brought your cards home, it is time to download a free app from the iTunes store.

We had no problem finding the app and within a few minutes we were all set to find out what these learning cards are all about.   We received all three sets of cards available - Numbers, Letters and Wild Animals Adventures, the cards are geared toward children ages three and up.

My Children Are 3D Junkies

Simply put, my children love 3D.  They will put on the glasses and sit in front of our television and wonder why things aren't jumping off the screen at them, like they've experienced at the movies.  Now, learning comes to life, with Cypher Kids there is no need for special glasses, just point your Apple Device at the cards and right before your eyes the cards come to life.

How Do Cypher Kids Augmented Reality Cards Work?

Point the camera on your Apple device toward the card.  As it lays on a flat surface, the camera will read the card's special 3D marker.  Magically, a 3D world will appear on the screen of your device.

We used our cards with our iPad 2.  We loved the experience of the big screen and we are really impressed with how life-like and fun these cards are.   Because of some previous issues we've experienced with our children and expensive electronic devices, we supervised the use of the iPad.  Yet,  I can see that children could use these cards without the need of supervision.

The Letter and Number cards are excellent tools for my young daughter, who is just learning reading and mathematics.  Jillian's teacher has said to me that she is a little over-whelmed with starting grade one and moving to full time school.  Sitting at the kitchen table and working on teaching and helping Jillian with her learning is a great start, but sadly it often ends with frustration.  Using the interactive cards keeps her attention, and I find she is retaining what she is learning better.  I can not wait to see the difference the cards make in Jillian's learning, over the next few weeks and months.

These aren't just cards - Cypher Entertainment i3D cards are an experience!

That looks like a lot of fun! I'll have to keep it in mind for my little guy as he gets older.

interesting, we don't own any apple devices but they look fun. and I totally agree, our tablet is a cracked mess and I dont know if I would let the boys use it on their own either

This is super cool, I think my old iPad won't work though. What better excuse than to buy a new iPad and these cards for the kiddies? ;)

As a technology geek, I love products like these! I just wish I had a current iPod Touch. Mine is too old to use with these. Maybe I should invest in an iPad and claim it is to help educate my children. LOL! Thank you for sharing.
