Yes, life does go on throughout the winter months, yet this is the time of year I like to pad my nest, so to speak, with softness and comfort. As the mercury drops, I find myself wanting to spend more and more time inside the house. My living room sofa, looks out the front of our house, and I love to sit cuddled up working on my computer, while watching the snow fall. I might even have my favourite hot beverage in my hand. During the warmer months, I like to clear my space of blankets and pillows. But, when that winter wind blow, I find my sofa is once again my soft landing with lots of comforting cushions.
After many years of commuting to work, I truly do appreciate not having the stress of driving in nasty winter conditions. I actually enjoy watching a storm out my window.
Just like any other species which hibernates, I emerge when the warm spring sun returns to melt the snow. It is a wonderful reunion with my friends and neighbours, and I always marvel how the children on my street have grown over the winter.
So, bring on the winter weather. I've prepared my nest and ready to enjoy the chilliness from my vantage point.
