I pledge to make a difference, will you?

Purchasing Silk instead of dairy milk reduces your carbon footprint.  Silk generates 49% less greenhouse gases, and uses 76% less water.   Silk soy beverage is low in saturated fat, cholesterol and lactose free.  Soy is a smart choice for a healthy lifestyle.

Leaving our planet in better shape than we received it should be a priority for all of us.

We need to take responsibility and make a few simple changes, in order to leave a living legacy for the generations ahead.

Silk Canada is urging us to pledge to make a difference, and to keep Canada green

It's as simple as One, Two, Three...

1. Find a carbon calculator on Silk's facebook page and see how we can all pledge to keep Canada green.

2. Make a pledge to reduce your carbon footprint by choosing one of seven easy options.    With each option the carbon calculator will show your direct impact on the environment.

3. Then, for each pledge, Silk Canada will donate one dollar to plant a tree in Canada.

I've made my pledge to do my part.  A lot of the pledges are things I have already been striving to accomplish, and now with a gentle nudge from Silk Canada I will be a little more conscious of my decisions.

I am vowing to reduce my shower time, and to increase my recycling.  My pledge to reduce my shower time is the equivalent to taking 17 cars off the road for a day.   By pledging to be more aware, by pledging to make a small change, and wanting to make a difference, Silk Canada will donate $1.00 to Tree Canada - up to $25000.

Silk Canada & Tree Canada have partnered to lower our carbon impact by planting trees across our country

Won't you join me in making a difference?

Join me in making a pledge today, together we can make a difference.     Visit Silk Canada to find out all the details and make your pledge.

We don't consume Soy(well any unfermented soy product)for personal reasons in our home but it's nice to see Silk put on a campaign like this.
Great post and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this, this is such a great initiative for Silk to be taking on. I also had no idea about the stats of Soy Milk Vs. Cow milk.

Ha! Had no idea! I've been drinking Silk Soy Milk for years (I was vegan for a while and vegetarian for most of my adult life). I don't think my hubs will ever be able to stop drinking cow's milk though. I tried him on soy, rice, and almond milk. He just doesn't like any of them :(

I don't believe silk cares about the environment. From what I understand they support Monsanto and GMO foods. http://www.cornucopia.org/2012/08/prop37/

Hi YogaMama,

Thank you for taking the time to visit and comment. I can not comment on your concerns surrounding Silk Canada. You may wish to contact them directly to let them know your concern.

This is a great initiative on behalf of Silk Canada, they are not asking the consumer to donate, just make a moral pledge. To me that is very refreshing, as it becomes impossible to support every program, that various companies ask you to donate to.

Have a great day!
