Howard Learns about Bullies {#giveaway}

We are all aware of the tragic story of bullying, which was the news in mainstream media last week.  Bullying happens, and it is important to give our children the resources to cope with bullying when it happens to them.

We are fans of Howard B. Wigglebottom series of children's books.  Just as the kids are getting back into the swing of a new school year, we had the opportunity to review Howard B. Wiggebottom:Learns about Bullies.

Bullies can be everywhere and anywhere.  Most bullying of children will take place when there aren't any adults present.  Howard B. Wigglebottom: Learns about Bullies teaches children that they are not alone and don't need to put up with it.  The most important lesson to learn is to find someone that will help.

Be brave, be bold, a teacher must be told

My six year old daughter, knows that bullying is wrong, but I am not certain if she knows exactly what to do if she is being bullied.   Sharing this book with her brought my chat right to her level, and we had a discussion after reading the story together.  Howard B. Wigglebottom has wonderful parental tips at the back of the book, to help spark conversations.
Being an emerging reader, Jillian and I read the book together.  She had a lot of fun taking cues from the pictures, which helped her to figure out the story line.   The book is written in relate-able text to young children, and she particularly loved the illustrations.
Sharing the tale of Howard and how he learns about bullies is a great resource for my child, and any child.   Speaking with Jillian's teacher, we will send the book in Jillian's back pack to school for her to share with her classmates.
Find this book, as well as other Howard B. Wigglebottom books at We Do Listen Foundation, where children are enabled to feel good about themselves.  Howard B. Wigglebottom books retail for $15.00 (US), yet right now they are all on sale for only $6.00!  {These are wonderful holiday gift ideas!}

I love the idea of the "Learn about Bullies" but I'm also really curious about the "Listens to His heart' book.
