Devilish Delicious Delights #LMDconnector

We love Halloween, actually, we love the whole month of October leading up to the big night.  My children have been born and bred on the cutesie side of Halloween, there is nothing scary about Halloween in our home.    With all three of my children,  Five Little Pumpkins has been a favourite song.  We sing and act it out starting the first of October and I usually hear it sang right into mid-November.   I bet many moms and dads know this one well.

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
First one says - Oh my it's getting late
Second one says - There's witches in the air
Third one says - I don't care
Fourth one says - Let's run and run and run
Fifth one says - I'm ready for some fun
OOOH went the wind and out went the light
...and five little pumpkins rolled out of sight

Part of our Halloween fun, besides coming up with great costumes, and singing our favourite song,  is making some devilish delights with and for the family.

Rain, wind and chilly temperatures has put a damper on getting out to enjoy our local pumpkin patch and farm.  But, that doesn't stop us from keeping the Halloween spirit alive within our home.  This past weekend while the rain came down, we did a little fun non-baking, and whipped up a so-very-cute Halloween treat.

Chocolate Gremlins

These are simple treats, with a spooky twist - perfect for Halloween.

Start by melting a cup each of milk chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, together over low heat

When the chips are melted, stir in two cups of Fibre 1 cereal

Drop by the spoonful onto waxed paper
Enlist your big or small child helpers to affix the gremlin's eyes

Oh, look!  Someone ate one of the gremlin's eye:)
Chill in the fridge

Enjoy!

This is one of the top ten easy recipes for Halloween, at Life Made Delicious.  Check them out,  and have some fun in the kitchen whipping up some simple delights.

We still give out homemade Halloween treats amongst the families on our street.  Here lies the beauty of living in a small, rural town, on a street of only a dozen homes.  This year, I am going to be giving out these little chocolate gremlins!  (No one will ever know that they are eating such a fibre rich cereal treat.)

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone enjoys all that the Halloween season has to offer.
