During the summer months I tend to be a minimalist in terms of my home decor. Generally, I love to decorate according to the season, but during the summer we tend to live outside and I don't do much indoors. Now, as we are gearing up for the Autumn season, I find myself looking through my Fall and Halloween themed decoration which I have on hand.
I have a lot of decorations which I really love to use during the months of September, October and November, and I've already started to bring some of those out for display. Yet, I've found a great love for cutesie owls, and I enjoy growing and adding to my new obsession. This Fall I am planning on adding a couple of simple items to my small, but beloved collection.
While I love the look of owls, I certainly don't want it to become overwhelming within my home. I want to use owls as a cute accent and not a focal point.
So, I pick my pieces carefully.
Right now, I have three small handmade owl cushions lining the arm of my loveseat. Next, I am thinking of adding one large pillow, such as the one I posted above. Another option that I am toying with is purchasing a throw blanket to drape over the back of the sofa or loveseat.
Finally, I had found a cute burlap owl, door hanger - which I may try to recreate. But, first a trip to the craft store would be in order. Seeing that I am not a very crafty person it is a little unnerving to invest in the materials for a project which may or may not work out as planned.
Do you have fun with decorating and do you like to take inspiration from the season?
