A Wedding to Remember
Nine years ago the whole family rented cars and headed one province east to celebrate the marriage of my brother and his bride. Everyone, except me. My son, Matthew was just a couple of weeks old at the time and I could not see myself taking the seven hundred kilometer trip with a newborn. I don't regret not making the trip with an infant, yet, I do regret not being there when my brother was wed. I also regret not having the opportunity to visit Montreal.
My brother and his wife were wed at a historical Montreal hotel. I love looking at their wedding photos and seeing all the breathtaking scenery in the background. I can see that the setting for their ceremony was perfectly romantic and charming.
While their wedding was a celebration to remember, there was some quirky stories the travelers returned with, which were just as memorable.
This was my husbands first trip to Montreal, yet he found himself as the designated driver on a trip to a salon. He was pulled aside in the restaurant where they had the rehearsal dinner and told that my parents hadn't given a big enough tip, and they had a wild hunt for a lost stuffed animal which belonged to my then five year old daughter. Not to be forgotten, there was an accident on the highway which sent them on a cross-country journey to find their way home.
Happy Anniversary to my brother and his wife!
They are now a little family of three, who often make the trip to Quebec. In fact, they are going this coming long weekend, to celebrate where it all began.
