Soaking up the Sunshine #LMDconnector

This spring has proven to bring loads of sunshine and warm temperatures.  My grass is getting a bit brown, so a little moisture would be very welcome any time soon.   Yet, we are loving the beautiful blue skies and bright sun, which is doing our bodies good.

Last weekend, I saw many families outside getting their gardens in.  In just a few weeks people will be enjoying the fruits of their labour with wonderful homegrown goodness.   Warm temperatures and long hours of sunshine, (and a little watering) will help our gardens to grow.

With outdoor grilling and dining, comes a search for fresh and tasty side dishes.   Think local and visit farmers markets and road-side stands as they start to pop up across the countryside.    I know many people around my community take part in a growing co-op or the service of a local farmer who delivers what is in season right to your doorstep each and every week.

Barbeque recipes and sunny sides go hand in hand

Add explosions of bright colours on your plates by making the choice to enjoy all of our local fresh produce, as it comes into season.   Not only do the colours of the season delight our eyes, the freshness is unparalleled.  There is nothing like our great Canadian home-grown veggies and fruits.

Fresh Fruit Salads are perfect potluck pleasers

A yummy fruit salad is so refreshing and sweet, yet, it is also an amazing mix of colours - especially as our own fruit comes into season.

As summer-time freshness comes into its peak, enjoy it while soaking up all the sunshine you can handle.    Find great barbeque menu ideas, as well as the recipes for both of the pictured colourful salads by visiting Life Made Delicious.
