What is your ultimate Mother's Day? #LMDconnector

With Mother's Day right around the corner, dads and kids start thinking about what mom wants most.

Many moms simply say time together as a family, myself included.

I have always wanted to participate in south western Ontario's Shunpiker Tour.  If you aren't familiar, shunpiker means to take the roads less traveled.  The annual Mother's Day Shunpiker Tour takes participants on a route across our area of Ontario to visit locales which are hidden gems, areas off the beaten path.  We've haven't participated yet, simply because of the age of my children (someone always seemed to be potty training, or some other obscure reason), yet, this may just be the year for mom to get her wish!

But before we hit the open road we better fuel up our tummies, and maybe even pack a picnic basket to have along the tour.

Why not start the day with a simple, but fabulous breakfast.   Let's find a little inspiration from Life Made Delicious, shall we?

To kick off our family day we will start our day with something hot for our Mother's Day Breakfast.   We don't usually eat hot breakfasts, so already we are treating ourselves.  Life Made Delicious has french toast recipes which sound divine, yet simple enough the kids can pull it together with the help of dad.

Apple-Cinnamon French Toast

I'll get a picnic basket packed up with some watermelon chunks, cheese, crackers, and lots of snack items.  Portable snacks like chex mix & bugles are perfect for those times when everyone starts complaining that they are hungry, but you just aren't quite ready to stop.

I can't wait to find out where the tour will take us, and the memories we will make.

This is my ultimate Mother's Day, what is yours?

That looks so yummy! Um is it wrong that I want a break from my family on Mother's Day? LOL I am with my boys 24/7, so I need a little space, and a bushel of yarn!

I am not a french toast fan - but oh my, does that look delicious.

I normally spend some time with my mom on mothers day afternoon, and then hubby bbq's dinner (whatever I am in the mood for)

That sounds like a lovely way to spend Mother's Day. I haven't made any plans yet but if the weather is nice I would like to be in the garden.

my ultimate mother's day would be to sleep ALL THE WAY through the night WITHOUT being woken up and then SLEEP IN uninterrupted until I am not tired anymore.

That would be incredible.

:)

I'm stressing over what to do for Mothers Day this year...so many options and it's at the same time as ComicCon!! What to do, what to do?? LOL! We do a nice family breakfast and then if the weather's nice, we'll head up to the cottage for the day.

I'd never heard of the Shunpiker Tour, but it sounds like the perfect way to spend Mother's Day! (And frankly, so does ComicCon :)
