Olivieri asked if I would like to try making home-made lasagna using their fresh pasta sheets. It may be a gamble, but one last kick at the can was tempting, and one I was up for.
Shopping for Olivieri lasagna sheets was easy, I found them near the deli counter at my grocer. I also picked up a refrigerated Olivieri garlic loaf to accompany my lasagna.
Now, Granny makes her lasagna with simple ingredients, they are farm folk who eat the basics. No fancy ingredients needed for this recipe.

.....Thirty minutes later we returned to a house which smelled of a delicious home-cooked supper. I switched my oven control to broil and gave my lasagna a couple of minutes to brown up on top.
After letting the lasagna rest for about ten minutes, we dug in.

But the real question remains - what did the judge and jury think of our attempt at making Granny's lasagna?
The answer was found by observing a couple of saucy faces and a request for seconds! This is the closest I've ever been to making a lasagna which is reminiscent of Granny's, one that the tribe would eat and actually enjoy. Making me one happy momma.
Olivieri whole wheat lasagna noodles are an affordable staple to stock in the fridge. Making home made meals couldn't be any easier or delicious when you start with the right ingredients.
