Lovesick by Spencer Seidel {blog tour}

Welcome to the Lovesick blog tour!

Lovesick is a suspense-filled, drama-filled, fiction novel by Spencer Seidel.

I love to bury my nose in the spine of a good book, yet with three children and an active blog, I often find it difficult to find the time to get into a book.    Lovesick had the power to pull me out of that reading funk.  Immediately, I was drawn into Lovesick from the prologue right through to the back cover.  I can only read at night when the rest of the house is asleep, a time when I am usually falling into bed at the end of the day, myself.  However, I found myself immersed in the life of a teenage boy, his best friend and their mutual love interest.  I was in the midst of a juicy love triangle.

I'm not going to reveal too much, because I think this is a wicked good read, and want people to feel the same excitement I did while reading it.

Lovesick is a tale of innocence lost, heart break and tragedy.  A tale which had my mind racing.  As I read I thought I had it all figured out, only to have it all crash down in the end.

Lovesick pulled me in.  My heart raced and my heart broke.  I found myself thinking about the book throughout my day, in anticipation of reading more later that night.

There's something wrong with Lee...

Late one night out on the Eastern Promenade Trail in Portland, Maine, the police discover an incoherent teenage sitting in a pool of blood, holding the body of his best friend and the murder weapon  The girl the both love has been missing for weeks.

Dr. Lisa Boyers, forensic psychologist, receives a call from an old friend, a connection to her troubled past.  Attorney Rudy Swaner ants her to interview the young killer, Paul Ducharme, who is claiming he doesn't remember the events leading up to the murder.

In her jailhouse interviews, Lisa helps Paul recover his memories.  But, Paul's disturbing love story forces her to confront her own ugly, violent secrets.

Lovesick will be available June 2012,  the ebook is available now.

And, now a teaser from the prologue of Lovesick....

He began walking back to the cruiser.
“No, it wasn’t like that. It was something else.”
“Let it go. Let’s just—”
There it is again,” Jimmy said, his voice a loud whisper. “Come on.” He began walking farther up the dark path.
Jimmy heard Bruce huff in annoyance, but the footsteps behind him meant Bruce was following anyway.
Bruce said, “C’mon, kid, what is it? I can’t hear any—”
Jimmy stopped dead in his tracks, and Bruce just about ran into him.
Jimmy saw two figures in the silver moonlight, out of range of his flashlight. One was kneeling, his face and clothes dark with stains.
On his lap lay another, face up, his neck and clothes also stained. Jimmy had a bad feeling that those stains were blood.

That's such a great idea! Thanks for posting this. I would never have known this book existed if you hadn't blogged about it! I think it's something I may enjoy reading too.

P.S. I thought you'd laugh, but when my 3 year old saw me reading your post, she pointed to the photo of the author and said, "OH! Look! It's Handy Manny!" LOL! Totally random!

I need a good book to pull me out of my funk too - but most of the time, I'm too tired to read, blogging is much more active ;) Great review!
