Betty Crocker is making Life Delicious this September {giveaway}

Some of my fondest memories of my childhood revolve around the kitchen - aprons, mixing bowls, and cookbooks.  My grandmother was one who was always whipping up some treat and I was her number one helper.  My grandma installed a love of cookbooks from the get go.  Grandma and I would lay side by side in her bed and read through recipes and make notes in the side columns.  To this day, I often take a cookbook to bed with me to read before turning in for the day.  One of my most treasured cookbooks is one of my grandmothers.  Seeing her handwriting in the columns makes me pretty nostalgic.

While, now we tend to turn to the internet to find new easy recipes, I do think that many of us still love to flip through pages of a favourite cookbook.  Maybe many are like my grandma's, cookbooks you would find with notes of love in the side columns.   Cookbooks are wonderful heirlooms, that could tell the story of a family just by looking through the pages.

And, now life is even more delicious with the release of a brand new Betty Crocker Cookbook!

The new Big Red Cookbook contains 1500 recipes!  The retail value of this amazing cook book is $35.99 and you can find it at your favourite locations - Amazon, Indigo/Chapters, BettyCrocker.com and Wiley Publishing.

Did you know that Betty Crocker has released over 200 cookbook titles, which have sold millions of copies?

Take a peek at Life Made Delicious, and you will find 400 of the recipes included in the new Big Red, plus, 85 brand new videos to help get our taste buds tantalized.

~ Giveaway @ Country Mouse, City Mouse! ~

One lucky Canadian reader will win their own copy of the new Betty Crocker Cookbook!

My fondest kitchen memories revolve around my grandma and her kitchen. I always remember the fabulous meals my grandmother made and the family time we enjoyed around the huge antique table. My sister and I actually complied my grandmother's recipes and other family recipes into a cookbook when she passed away. The cookbook is now such a treasure to have!

Every Tuesday was baking day in our household. Mom baked everything from cookies to pies all in one day. I was there beside her, standing on my little stool sampling the batter and of course mixing too.

My fondest memory...every Sunday after mass my father would be the cook! He'd whip up the best pancakes or scrambled eggs or omelets. He had a special electric rectangular grill just for Sundays' cooking. Nice memory, especially now that he's gone.

I guess my fondest memory would be just cooking and baking with my mom. She taught me everything I know and without her I don't think I'd be able to cook.
