Awesome Apples are making Life Delicious

Apples are a staple in our home.  The kids love them in their school lunches, but, they have to be sliced with sprinkled cinnamon.  September brings apple picking and apple festivals in our area under the warm Autumn sunshine.    I may be a little biased, but, I don't think there are any apples better than Ontario apples!

My fondest apple memory is going to a local orchard.  We didn't pick the apples, they were already picked - bushels lined the walls of a barn and we loaded up our trunk.  At home my dad made home-made apple cider in the garage and we also had tonnes for eating out of hand.  Now-a-days, that orchard is no longer there, but we do have fresh from the orchard apples close by, and boy, do we enjoy them!

Using apples in easy recipes is a great way to incorporate the tasty fruit, not that we need an excuse to eat those crisp beauties.

Find this recipe for Carmel Apple Pie and other easy recipes at Life Made Delicious, now.

My go-to busy weeknight dessert is so simple.   Peel and core about three or four of your favourite variety of apple.  Mix up a white Betty Crocker cake mix, put 3/4 of your mix on the bottom of your baking pan.  Spread your sliced apples over the mix and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.  Pour the remaining batter over the apples and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
