Aloha Friday -- Target is coming to Canada!

Yipee, another week of January gone!

This week we (Canadians) heard the announcement that Target is coming to Canada. I couldn`t be happier about it. If you are a Target shopper, share with me the positives (or negatives) of the company. What do you like about shopping there, or dislike, if the case may be.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Pam,

Congrats! I am NOT a fan of the "mart" stores (any of them), but I like shopping at Target. I can always seem to find something nice there for a good price. They sell a little of everything, they keep their stores clean, and the other shoppers and employees are generally pleasant.

Hope the store meets your expectations - when does it open?

I LOVE Target - but I always seem to spend more than I intended to when I go. Must be that the target sign is hypnotic or something... ;)

I like shopping at Target. You can find great clearnace deals. The only negative thing I can think of is that there's not one close enough to my house, LOL! The nearest Target is about 25 minutes away but I wish we had one right here in town.

L-O-V-E target, if ours had a big grocery, I'd probably only shop there! I love that there are always good sales and clearance items. I don't always love the selection of certain things...but I always leave happy

Well it's about dang time! It's so clean and organized and it has trendy and fashionable items for decent prices.

I am not a target shopper anymore, However I did like it. I notice most of the items are from China and that has happened in the first few years. So I tend not to buy there anymore. I am trying to support American and Canadian made products.
My Friday post-Got Plans? Hope you visit me and answer my question.

Target is a lot cleaner and easier on the eyes than their competition.

This will change your life!
I LOVE Target! It's a step up from Walmart (do you have those in Canada?). Prices are a wee bit higher, but the quality is better. The stores are clean and spaced out. I would shop at Target all the time if we weren't keeping an eye on every teeny tiny cent that comes into our house.

My only negative is that it is sometimes hard to return things. With a receipt, no problem. Be sure to keep your receipts and get gift receipts for things that you buy for others. My sister had a wedding registry nightmare there a couple of years ago. :(

Target is a tiny bit more expensive than Walmart, but I think their stores are cleaner and better organized. I have never gone into Target and had to fight my way around big pallets of merchandise, which is frequently the case at our local Walmart.

I've never heard of target, so I'm guessing we don't have it here in the UK

Being a fellow Canadian, I too am excited about Target. Afterall, Zellers hasn't been that great but I guess I had better get over there and spend my points :)

I don't care to shop at Target, but I will sometimes on a sale. Guess I just like Walmart better.

Not really a fan... not a fan of Walmart either. I feel like the US is trying to take over.. how many of their stores come here vs. how many of our stores go there...

I'm thrilled about Target coming to Canada, too--even though the nearest one to us will probably be 5 hours away. Hope that means there will be a target.ca to order things from! I got pretty much all my new maternity clothes from Target in August when I was visiting my parents. I wouldn't call it great quality clothing, but it did the job. It's not like I needed the clothing to last longer than a couple months.

It has to be better than Zellers! I sure hope so. I wonder if they'll put one where the zellers is near my house or if that will end up something else or empty like practically that whole strip mall.

Oh, I LOVE Target. They have a little bit of everything, great sales, clean set-up, and a wonderful "dollar spot". I'm a big, fat fan. You'll love it.

Funny, we were just at Target this evening :-) I found shoes for the kids on clearance for $4.98 a pair! I was so happy because our budget is really tight nowadays. That's one of the things I really like about Target is that they often have good sales and I always check the clearance racks as seasons shift.

Yep, Target has a cleaner look but I'm rarely there. I do shop there for home stuff more than any where else.

Positive. They have great sales! Better than Walmart.

Neg: They are too expensive!

Go to the opening! That should be fun!

Target is kind of a more polished Walmart style store. Their prices are sometimes a little higher but the shopping environment makes up for it by making shopping there fun!
