Sound Oasis ~ Sleep Sound Therapy System

If I was being completely honest and was in the mood to reveal something about myself, I would admit that I am living with chronic stress. 2010 has been a difficult year for myself and our family. I am hoping for some resolution and a reduction in some of the stress before the end of the year, but one thing I know without a doubt is life is very uncertain and one just never knows what is around the corner.

In the interim I have had to learn to manage the stress in my everyday life. Chronic stress has greatly impacted my quality and quantity of sleep. We all know when there is a lack of sleep, any issues that you are experiencing can quickly spiral out of control.

Finding out about the Sleep Sound Therapy System from Sound Oasis gave me a glimmer of hope.

Sleep better ~ Feel better ~ Live Better

Sound Oasis is an unique sound and tinnitus therapy product that allows users to create their very own sound environment, conductive to relaxation, sleep and improvement of everyday life. By bathing a room with authentic sounds of nature, Sound Oasis blocks out irritating noises, helps circumvent tinnitus discomfort and creates a peaceful atmosphere. Users fall asleep easier, get higher quality sleep, enhance concentrations, and feel more alert and comfortable throughout the day!

In the spirit of product reviews, my hubby and I have been turning on our Sleep Sound Therapy System every time our head hits the pillow. The unit has twelve sound settings to choose from. Nature sounds (thunderstorm, ocean surf) to energy chimes (the sound of crickets and chimes), to sleep surf (ocean waves + musical pulsations) to name a few of our favourites. Like most people (I would think), some of the sounds were relaxing and calming to us, while others we found took some getting used to.

My hubby has become the biggest fan of white noise. He works shifts so he has frequent sleep disturbances. Since we have had the Sleep Sound Therapy System he has been on nights for two weeks, and found that he was sleeping better and longer while having the sound of white noise in the background.

Myself, I love gentle rain. I have always enjoyed the sound of rain hitting the window or roof, I just find it so soothing. So, having the opportunity to listen to the authentic sounds of rain as I drift off to sleep has been wonderful. I can definitely attest to better and longer sleep periods since receiving the Sleep Sound Therapy System.

Some of my favourite features are the back light, and built in alarm clock. The alarm is even non-abrasive, unlike most alarm clocks. It has a sleep mode, which you can set up to play for either 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Yet, you are able to just leave it on continuously (we are continuous-type people). I love that we can plug it in, but we can also insert batteries if we were on the go. It is small, attractive and compact.

And, it even has a Canadian connection! Dr. L. Bartel was instrumental in developing the Sleep Sound System. Dr. Bartel is a world-renowned sleep expert and is a Professor of Music at the University of Toronto. Who knows, maybe some day he will be teaching my daughter (and, she can tell him that her parents fall asleep and stay asleep all thanks to the Sleep Sound Therapy System).

Another point which I feel is important to mention is the system is known for helping people who suffer from tinnitus. My dad lives with tinnitus and if I can part from my Sleep Sound Therapy System for a few days I would like him to try it out and see if he finds he can benefit from it.

One hundred percent I recommend this product. It has made a significant improvement in our sleep. Now, we look forward to heading to bed, because we know that with the Sleep Sound Therapy System we will be quickly lulled into a deep and peaceful sleep, and as a result the next day we feel better and can function better as well.

When you visit Sound Oasis take a minute to check out the sound samples.

I've GOT to get me one of these things! I live next to a state highway, and have some noisy neighbors, so this will be PERFECT for me! Thanks Pam!

I want one. I think I'd prefer the rain sound and would use the white noise for my daughters. I would like one in the hopes that it would "condition" them, for lack of a better work, to sleep throughout the night - and stay the hell outta my bed haha!
