Welcome to Aloha Friday! I have taken the summer off from participating, but think it is high time to get back involved with this Friday fun!

I opened my inbox to find an email from an online retailer which I have bought kids clothing from in the past. The email told me that their data base had been hacked back at the beginning of June and someone accessed their customers personal information.

So, my question is:

Do you think the company should of informed their customers of this hack when it happened and not two months later? The letter implied that it is about to hit the media and I think they are trying to back peddle and look responsible to their customers. Too little to late, if you ask me.

Definitely too little too late.

The same day/week that happened, they should have informed their customers so the customers could take steps to protect themselves and watch for fraudulent activities.

I'm glad someone will alert the media. What they did was not ok.

To tell you the truth Yes I agree they should've told you ASAP, but first they have to be positive on what was happening, and I'm sure it was handed over directly to their attorneys. No company is going to risk being sued without an ace in their pocket where they can't. Only my opinion.

Oh yes, they should have notified their customers right away and obviously they only sent out that email because they 'had to'. I would be very concerned and even mad about that. Not sure I would order from them again.

Agreed - with all the comments!And some compensation would be good too! It would really have been mad. They probably thought nothing would come of it!
