Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:

Do you have a favourite childhood memory?

I remember the family vacations we took, like to Yellowstone and Northern California. Good times.

I think my favorite childhood memory is when I was 13 years old and my little brother and sister were born. There was nothing better in my life until I had my own children. I love those two crazy teenagers!!

Oh I remember our family holidays at the South Coast. Every July holiday (when it was jolly freezing cold where we lived) we would pack up and go to the South Coast of Natal, where it was hot and wonderful! Walks on the beach with my brothers and parents, sticky ice-cream and board games around a big table at night while the stars sparkled in the sky - we did not have television in South Africa in those days, so evenings were spent doing family things together! Simply the best!

I loved visiting by grandparents farm. We got to fish, catch frogs in nets, and eat my grandmother's apple pie.

I used to love going to my Grandparents house for Sunday dinners. My grandma was the best cook and made everything from scratch. There was always so much food and dessert. I really miss her and regret that I never learned any of her cooking secrets.

I'm not real good on childhood memories but I do remember being excited, ALWAYS, at Christmas. It was always the best at our house.
