Pur Minerals

For several years I have been tempted by mineral makeup. But I have never had the courage to take the leap, after all I have been using liquid foundation for over twenty years and I am comfortable with it. Mineral makeup was very much an unknown for me. Sure, it looked easy enough to apply, but was it right for me?

Thankfully, Pur Minerals came to my rescue, when they offered me the opportunity to review my choice of mineral makeup, I was beyond excited to finally take the leap.

For review I chose the Mineral Makeup Starter Kit in blush medium.

Included in the kit are the following products....

4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup: The cornerstone of Pür Minerals, this one-minute mineral makeup miracle is your mineral foundation, powder, concealer and SPF protection all in one neat makeup compact. Completely free of oil, alcohol, talc, fragrances, preservatives and chemical dyes, this mineral foundation is actually good for your skin!

My thoughts...I found the pressed makeup to be easy to apply. It gave my skin a nice even appearance and there wasn't any caking...very nice and light. With liquid makeup I always battled the dreaded lines, good-bye lines, there is no such thing with this mineral makeup. I found that it worked really well at concealing, my skin tone is pretty uneven and this did a nice job giving my skin a more even appearance. I love that it has SPF protection factored in.

Mineral Glow: A touch of sun in a makeup compact, this mineral powder will impart a natural, sun-kissed glow to your skin.

My thoughts....I was in desperate need of a touch of sun, so I was excited to see if the mineral glow actually gave me some glow. YES! My face actually has a nice warm glow after applying. The mineral glow beautifully compliments the 4 in 1 pressed powder. I was really happy to see this gave a nice soft natural glow (not that abrasive orangy appearance I have experienced with other products that are supposed to give you glow)

Universal Marble Powder in Pink: Give your skin back that rosy glow you were born with. Universal Marble Powder corrects, brightens and imparts antioxidants into the skin. This multi-purpose mineral makeup can be worn on your eyes, lips and cheeks.

My thoughts...I tried this on my cheeks and over the bridge of my nose. I liked it in a small dusting, if I got too heavy with this product I wasn't happy. So, for me a little is all I needed. My skin is dull and I have very little natural colour in my face so I think this is why I needed to go light on this product. The Marble Powder is a great pick-me-up and gave me a healthy appearance.

The Chisel Makeup Brush: The magic behind the mineral makeup look! The only makeup brush to use for application of your 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup, it provides maximum coverage and an amazingly smooth finish.

My thoughts...I really did like the brush. It is easy to handle and seemed to be just the right size, not too big or too small. I was really happy to get the right tool for the job, especially since this was my first time using mineral makeup. I have tried using other brushes previously and there is for sure a difference in brushes. Finding the right brush is the key to perfect make-up application.

Overall Impression...
I was really impressed with the quality of Pur Minerals. The sizes in the starter kit are perfect for a beginner and it will be a while before I need to re-order. I have always wanted to achieve a flawless, even look to my face...but have never found a make-up combination that I was happy with. When you put on Pur Minerals make-up in the morning it is there to stay. I never have felt the need to reapply and that is a great thing for a busy mom.

One of the best aspects for me was that Pur Minerals did not dry out my skin or cause any break-outs. I was nervous about choosing the correct shade for me, but after reading that Pur Minerals will exchange your colour choice within thirty days if you failed to get a colour that you were happy with...I was reassured and confident in my choice.

Normally my face does show signs of age and stress. Dare I say that my skin has a more youthful appearance when wearing Pur Minerals make-up?! I can say for certain that it has given me a huge boost!

Next steps...
Now that I am started, there is no looking back! My next purchases will be the Mineral Lip Gloss and the Mineral Eye Defining Pencil.

Thank you Pur Minerals for introducing me to a world of make-up that is light and natural and fresh!

Pam micronized minerals are controversial right now. The only mineral makeup for sure not made with micronized minerals is Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) I am an Avon lady and we sell mineral foundation but I dont recommend it because of the micronized minerals. If you choose to continue to use micronized mineral foundation just be informed. I am going to email you a website to check out.
