Skate

Monday night Matthew began skating lessons. My parents have VERY generously offered to take and pay for him to take lessons.

Matthew loves hockey and was really frustrated with his inability to skate.

His class went on the last day before school let out for the Christmas break and he came home very upset and said he hated it and wouldn't be going skating again.

Poor kid, it tugged at our heart strings. So, we will see how it goes. The lessons are until the end of March. I will let you know if he is on his way to the Olympics....

hope the lessons go well for him. that can be very frustrating to love something so much and then not be able to participate in it

That's exciting! I hope he hangs in there. Punky was the same way. She was so excited to learn to skate but then hated it because it didn't come easy. It only took a couple trips to the rink, though, for her to catch on and love it. Good luck!

He was probably just embarrassed that he wasn't skating as well as his classmates. He sure will after the lessons!

Yeah for Grandma & Grandpa coming through with lessons. These lessons may be all that's needed to get him on his way to being a Hockey Player. *Fingers crossed.

That can be so frustrating to be the only one in a group of friends who doesn't know how to do something :-/ I'm glad he's getting a chance to learn how to skate, though! Hopefully he'll be in the Olympics before you know it! ;)

I remember how I felt when I first started skating. I'm sure the lessons will help build his confidence. It was a nice gift.
