Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

This week's question:

Your child has two incidents at school this week. One results in him getting a scratch on his eye, the second is a bump on the back of his head after he is pushed down and falls into a table.

What would you do?

I would go to school, freak out and get to the bottom of this. ASAP. Hope your son is ok.

Happy Friday!

I would question it, definitely! I would need to rule out bullying and get it sorted out at the school one and for all!

Hope you have a happy week-end!

Its been a long time since I have dealt with these issues but I would either be at the school or on the phone with the school to get to the bottom of how it happened, what the school did at the time of incident, and depending how it happened, what their plans were at resolving the matter.
My ?? is posted here

Meet with the teacher, head master, and whomever is in charge of the district. Neither incidents listed are common or minor.

Yeah, what Rob said! When my boy was in daycare at 2 years old, he got bitten 4 times in one day. After it continued, I had a hissy fit!! Finally they moved the little girl who bit him, once she learned to talk, it got better!

Try to control my rage and then have a word with the teacher. I would work my way up the chain and if it didn't change find another place for him.

Hi Pam. Stopping by during Friday Follow! Already following :) To answer this question I would have marched up to the school to find out what is going on. If the kids are bullying your son I would definitely demand a stop too it. Poor kiddo. I swear by the end of the school year here they are going to start cringing when I walk in. LOL

First I would talk to my child to see if he/she can shed some light on the situation. Then I would call the school and ask for the teacher to give you a call. I think that you need to tell the teacher what you have seen and ask if they have seen anything taking place. Obviously they can not catch everything (I am a teacher and wish I had eyes on the back of my head). That will allow the teacher to watch more carefully. Have an agreement on when to get a call back. With any luck you will not have to go any further. Good luck!

Oh that is so tough. I would go to the school and talk to the teacher. If she did not know what the problem was I suppose I would talk to the principal about the fact that the teacher did not know. I would definitely talk to my son and find out if it was the same kid too. because if it is a case of bullying than the school really needs to do something about that. I am so sorry. I hope he is okay.

Oh no! I would talk to the teacher and find out what's going on. Is he the victim of bullying?

Try to get more information from your child. What was going on or happening before the those things happened. Did he say anything that may have made the other child mad, or did he take something the other child had. If you find out none of it was your child's doing, then I'd go to the school and tactfully get to the bottom of the problem.
Actually when I was in grade school, I said something that made another girl mad and she threw rocks at me. I didn't know it would make her mad at the time, but looking back on it as an adult, I could see how she did not understand what I really meant and took offense at it.
