Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION....

Have you heard that the US Postal service has canceled the letters to Santa program?

What do you think about that?

We always write letters to Santa through Canada Post, and if they canceled it here, we would be pretty upset. It is a Christmas tradition.

I think it is sad that they would drop the program. I have always been surprised that they could sponsor things like Lance Armstrong's Tour de France teams and still cut programs or up their prices.

I had not heard this and I think it is so sad. Our kids will never get to experience the same joys of Christmas like we did as kids.

Yes...and they're about to cancel Saturday delivery too!

I hadn't heard that. I'm sure there are still places that you can drop off your Santa letter to somewhere. I don't know what the post office is doing but they sure are making cuts on things.

I didn't even know they did it!

I think it sucks. I am pretty sure that there's many people at the PO that LIKE to do responses to the kids....I say let them volunteer to do it. How silly.

I never used the program so it doesn't affect me BUT I think it's awful!

I never even knew there was a programme, but that is sad for those who did and used it.

I think that is sad.

I also heard they are stopping Saturday deliveries, too.

I think it has something to do with a volunteer who wasn't a "good person", at least that is what Brian Williams said on the news last night. How sad.

Have a happy weekend.

I heard about it and it makes me sad...
I was looking forward to starting that with my son! :(
Hopefully they can get the address they were talking about so that they can continue this.

Wait...they did? I think that is sad. I guess understandable, considering the economy and the times, but very very sad! *sigh*

no I haven't heard that we started going through or local park district for letters.

I think that it is a really bad deal.
I think they should cut a few more CEO funds along with the other cuts.

I'm beyond that point but it's really sad. I didn't know they'd discontinued it!

I hadn't heard - how disappointing!

I think I did hear something about that. I just have my kids write on a plate what they want and then put cookies with milk on it. I make sure that they ask for something I know that Santa is going to bring :)

I didn't know that.

There weren't enough volunteers to help, I think. It doesn't affect me but it sad- an end of an era.

I didn't know they had such a program. They seems to be cutting alot of things. We might start to get deliver only certain days a week soon.

Is it technology? or just a bad economy?
