Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question this week...

When you buy sports equipment for your children do you buy new, or second hand from a place like Play It Again Sports?

I always bought new for Stacey, but then I only had 1 child! I don't see any problem with buying good second hand equipment. We don't have a second hand shop like that in SA so would have to rely on buying from someone.

New- and only when I know they are serious about the sport.

My boys are cross country runner, so they need shoes to fit their individual needs, so we buy new, as running shoes last about 200 miles. I wish I could buy them used!

We're all about buying used...so long as it's in like new condition.

I *heart* Play It Again Sports. It has saved us a ton of money over the last few years with two girls in softball!

So far we're just really beginning with sports and have bought new. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a used sports store. I'll have to check it out - thanks!

Depends on what I am buying. Most of the time it is new.

Usually new since the stuff they need hasn't been expensive. Well, unless you count the shoes but I don't do used shoes. Ugh, gross!

My son is just a baby, but I do not think that there is anything wrong with buying from play it again sports!

I've sold things to Play It Again Sports, but never bought anything. When my kids have had sports, we go to the local Sports Dept store, they have all the items needed. If we were buying large items or single items, I would look at PIAS first.

Always new, I think I've only been to Play It Again Sports one time.

We don't buy sports equipment anymore and when we did we usually bought new. Bats, gloves, etc.

Rent uniforms, buy new sport shoes, buy used instruments or rent new.

I haven't bought any, but I do not have a problem buying used when my girls are older.

I haven't reached that point, yet! I would however, consider all of those options!

I would probably buy new, but I would be open to other options too.

For the feet, hands and face I buy new. I have purchased basball pants and soccer shorts from Play It Again Sports though.

I had no idea they sold sports things second hand. I ' ll have to remember this.

I don't yet buy sports material for my kids.

We don't buy sports equipment for them yet, but we will definitely go the second hand route when the time comes!
