Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question this week...

Has your family or workplace been hit by illness this fall?

We have struggled all week to get healthy, we have had colds, and stomach bugs. At my oldest daughters school, many children have been out sick all week, one class had 12 kids absent one day. I am thinking her school may be shut down very soon.

My niece had swine flu, but she is the only one in our family to get it.

there was only a mild form of sickness in here so far .. both me and my husband got it.. but we dealt with it in its incipient stages.. so we try to keep that way:D

We were really blessed this year! Only the occasional sniffle and sneezes! Stacey does have dreadful hayfever though, but that comes with spring! Have a lovely week-end!

My family has, except my husband.

Dev has missed most of her days at school, Ken missed work, Dawn missed a lot of work with the nasty flu, Casey is sick now, Ian, Kyra and I have had only minor complaints. Oh unless you count those 6 days in the hospital I had but that is not from a bug just one of those things.

So far just a cold, although my daughter got sick first and she had more "flu" symptoms...but Eli and I just got colds so I don't know what she had.

Not yet, but most of the schools in our town have been hit so badly they've often been at 50-70 percent attendance!

About a month ago I took my son to the ER because he fell outside of big brother's school. Two days later I had a horrible headache, that night a fever, chills and body aches. Monday I wanted to curl up and stay in bed, but had two kids to take care of. The fever/aches/chills stayed all week and on Friday I added a cough. By the following Monday my fever was gone and I went to the doctor about my asthma. The doctor said that I likely had H1N1 (they don't test if you are not hospitalized). She gave me a script for Tamiflu for my 2 year old. Sure enough two nights later he went to bed fine. A few hours later he was restless and we went to check on him. He was gasping for air and had a fever. We went to the 24 hour pharmacy and started the meds.

So far Hubby and oldest have avoided it (knocking on wood). Hubby is getting his mandated H1N1 vaccine at work today.

Hi Pam. It has been a while since I last joined Aloha Friday. It's nice to be back.

Due to drastic changes in weather, my family has been prone to colds and cough. In fact, my son is still recovering from cough and colds.

I also learned that some of my son's classmates missed the exam this week because they are sick.

There are a number of schools closed in our area, but hubby and I have been healthy so far. He goes into the office a couple days a week and works at home the rest of the time. I don't have a job so we aren't out mingling as much as if we both worked in an office 5 days a week. Hope you and yours are feeling better soon.

The junior high has really been hit and the schools will be administering the H1N1 flu mist in the next week. I called my doctor to find out more and they said with the shortage of flu shots, it's a good idea to let my girls go ahead and get it.

So far, my son was out of school for a week with a fever and a virus. Only one of my cooks and one of my dishwashers has been really sick but I have the big bottle of hand sanitizer at the ready and encourage everyone to use it. I suspect there will be more illnesses to come.

so sorry to hear that I hope everyone feels better soon.

My youngest and oldest both have a cold. But so far everyone else is good. I use gloves when I go shopping and I think I'll be getting a mask soon too. I so don't want to get sick and bring it home to the kids. I don't care what I look like
you will see everyone will be having. I saw an elderly couple yesterday that had them and I thought wow that is a great idea

My daughter and me are sick right now. It's the flu/cold..

Two of my four have had the flu. I think one had the seasonal and one had H1N1.

The h1n1 has hit some of the schools in the area but we've been lucky, sanitized fingers crossed.

Luckily, we've been able to avoid illness except for the minor cold. *knock on wood*
