Aloha!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

THIS WEEKS QUESTION:

When your kids have a P. D. Day, what do you do to put in the day?

OR

As a kid, what did you do on P.D. Days?

(a P.D. day is a Professional Development day for the teachers, where they do workshops and the kids stay home from school that day. We have about one a month) Sorry, maybe not everyone calls it by the same name!

I'm so not knowing what a PD day is. Is it Pirate dress-up? or Partially Diabolic? maybe it's Parentally Disabled, as in their Mom is crazy so how can they get through the Day? I don't know,I need help on this one :0)

Well, my husband is a teacher so he is usually at school! Ha. The kids usually go to their grandparent's house because I have to work! lol

Well, I homeschool 2 kids and 2 go to school. When there is a PD day, it's just like a regular weekend day, really. Unless I'm hiding in the closet...Love your site, thxs for stopping by mine!

We never had them. Instead our kids go out early every Thursday and the teachers did their inservice stuff then.

Nothing, we just do what we would do on a weekend.

We usually plan something fun like a trip to the library, museum, zoo, etc. Something where we don't have to sit at home :-)

It was usually just a lounge-around day--sort of like Saturday, but without cartoons! LOL.

My mom stayed at home with me as a kid, so we just hung out :)

My boys did not get as many PD days as my grandkids seem to now days.
We would just hang out like it was an extra long weekend.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend.

My mom was a single parent so on teacher inservice days (we call it different stuff in KS lol) I would watch my younger siblings and usually the tv was on the whole time while I read a book :) I will be changing that for my children since I am blessed enough to be able to be home with my kids

I'm a teacher so it's off to work I go. The kiddos will go to Gran and Papa's as soon for a party because my hubs is a teacher too. Lucky them.

I'm glad you clarified what a P.D. was! I was thinking Pajama Day!!! And once a month???? Wow! We have them (called Teacher In-Services here) but since this is his first year of school, I don't know what we'll do. Just have a nice relaxing day, I guess! Try to work in a nap.

As for myself, I have NO idea what I did back in the day!

My kids aren't in school yet, but I assume that in the future I'll try to do something fun like go to the zoo or the Childrens Museum... or else maybe get together with their friends to play?

I don't think we really did anything special. The kids just enjoyed it like it was a Saturday or Sunday. :)
