A Princess in her Tutu

I bought this super cute tutu online after seeing them being featured at a review and giveaway. I had been checking out tutus for quite some time but thought they were too expensive. So, when I stumbled upon this one I thought the price was right, as well they were offering a discount code to the blog readers.

The tutu was a big hit with Jillian, it was a bit big though and kept falling down around here knees. Which, only means one thing..she can wear it again next year! I had thought about putting it on her for Halloween, but it won't work out if it keeps falling down.

In other news!!

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my kids. Jillian is starting preschool tomorrow too.
I seriously have a knot in my stomach over it. She has never been to a babysitter and I know she is going to be upset. I have hyped her going to preschool for a year now, she is very excited as we drive by, and when we went for our visit last week she was fine. Until...I tried to sneak out for a few minutes. She was busy playing with a group of children and I thought I would try it. She saw me and was at the door like a bullet. So for the last week I have been telling her that I am not staying, she is going to play with friends, read stories, play outside, do crafts, sing songs... (you get the idea) and I will be back when she is all done playing for the day. And, she says 'I cry for Mommy'

Who is going to be the bigger mess tomorrow? Her or me?

We are about to have new neighbours. They are a young engaged couple. So far they seem very quiet and I think we won't have any issues with them. They may have issues with us though...they may not like screaming children, toys strewn all over the lawn, neighbourhood children migrating here! Funny thing is, when we moved in we were the young kids on the street. Time passes so quickly! We have been here 14 years this October.

Enjoy the last day of August 2009, in my little world things change tomorrow.

The Tutu is adorable!
I can remember sending mine all off the first day of school and I cried like a baby each time I had to let one go. I think I was a wreck for a couple weeks until I got used to the idea!

Thanks for stopping by my blog it's nice to meet another fellow Canadian!

The tutu is adorable! You could pin some ribbon on it to make "suspenders" to keep it up for a night of trick or treating.

Well as for crying at preschool...you might be surprised. My kids never went to a sitter but took to school very easily. I dont think they ever cried even my younger more sensitive child.

What you might find surprising is that every single day of preschool and kindergarten Isabel said to me when I picked her up "can't I be homeschooled?" When I asked her if she didnt like her teacher she would say she loved her, and she loved to play with the kids and she loved to paint etc...but would rather be home.
So, its hard but chin up girl you can do it!

One last thing on this subject because I am up way too early this morning and everyone in blogger land must pay the price with long long comments from me...Jillian may not be ready for preschool. She might need a few more months at home. If it turns out to be impossible for her to stay there at preschool, look into some little preschool story hour programs that you can take her to and stay with her, that could be her first preschool experience and honestly every bit as good as a traditional preschool setting. I know this for a fact because I pulled Isabel out of preschool at after 3 months because of a bully in school (who was eventually removed from the preschool when too many parents pulled their kids from the school) But by then we were not going back. I ended up taking her to the preschool story hour at the library and she would listen to the story and interact with the kids, play with some toys for an hour and then we'd go home. When she went into Kindergarten she did great and to this day is a top student, I dont think the fact that we went a different route did her any harm at all. With my oldest daughter we moved in the middle of the year and she only got 4 months of preschool. Again she is super smart, completed trig in 9th grade (I am just amazed so I have to tell everyone ha ha) so I'd say if the pressure is on to put Jillian in preschool and she's not ready for it, take the pressure off yourself, because its a societal thing, not a requirement.

She may cry but I'm sure that once she gets involved, she's going to have the best time. As for you, you'll have to let us know tomorrow.

LOVE the tutu!!

Princess Nagger was like that, too - her thing is "But I'll miss you too much!" But she adjusted very well when she started kindergarten last year. She reluctantly went, but by the time she got home she was transformed into loving it. I think your little princess will pleasantly surprise you... :)

Looking forward to seeing how it goes! ((HUGZ!!))
