Great Volunteers!

I was proud to be invited to the Volunteer Appreciation assembly and luncheon that my son's school puts on at the end of the school year, in a way to honour the parents/grandparents and community members who helped out throughout this school year.

I know, you are thinking...when would I have time to volunteer between being a blogging maniac and farmer extraordinaire?!

Truth be told, my classroom volunteer time was spent mostly at my kitchen table.

I agreed to help the teacher by cutting and stapling together booklets.

It worked for me, since I still have Jillian at home with me, and she doesn't have child-care. She is just not mature enough yet to be in a classroom with out causing disruption.

The assembly began with kids doing little skits, and singing songs. We than watched a slide show of various activities throughout the school year, which would not be possible without the aid of volunteers. After the assembly portion of the morning we went to the library where the most wonderful lunch was laid out.

It was so great just to have a lunch with adults and enjoy some adult conversation, as well as a tasty lunch!

And, I got a cute certificate to hang on my fridge, a pen for my purse and a flower for my table!
