Spring clean up

May has arrived and the weather is just lovely. Rain is coming later this week, but over the last couple of days the sun has been shining.

In the sunshine we got out and did some yard work. Tom was busy washing windows from the outside, and he cut down some over-grown trees. I worked at pulling some weeds, and getting some dead removed. My tulips are almost done for this year. In the next couple of weeks I will make a visit to the garden center to get some plants for my containers. Just not yet. A good rule of thumb around here is after May 24th, the risk of frost should be over at that point.

Aren't these little stepping stones the cutest? I may go back and get a couple more, they were only $5.

And, this solar light house? I found it on clearance for $10!!

What I really would like to find is a solar lantern, one that you would hang on a shepherd's hook! I see one that someone has here in town and I think it is so pretty. I have found lanterns that you put a candle in, but I don't want to be bothered with that.

Does anyone know where to get a solar-powered lantern?

Those stepping stones are adorable, Pam. I like your lighthouse too. I have a couple of Boyds Bear Garden Statues that I'll need to get out in the garden once we get things ready in a few weeks. I have a black thumb where gardening is concerned so I'm in no rush - lol

I'll keep my eyes out for solar lanterns for you. Enjoy today's sunshine!

Your garden looks beautiful, makes me want to get out and work in mine. I have ivy taking over areas in the backyard. If I see any solar powered lanterns, I'll let you know.

The Stepping stones are so cute. I will look on collection etc -- it's a website and they usually have stuff like that.

You've got the FEVER - "Spring Fever"!
Isn't it great?"
All the yard things are very pretty.
Love that sort of thing.

I've always used Memorial Day (here in the states) as a planting date. I got it from my mother who probably got it from her mother. Anyway, it works for me. I have much to do before I can plant.

I love those dear little stepping stones.

I am so glad you are experiencing Spring at your house Pam.!! And I love that you are "decorating" the yards with sweet things. I love to hang things all over the yards for the grandkids to see:) I love you girl and hope your Spring is here (there) to stay for you.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

My first set of tulips just bloomed. I have another bed that should bloom in a week or 2. It seems funny that yours are done when we're really not that far apart, but maybe I'm too close to the lake?

Enjoy the sun ... we've had nothing but rain rain rain rain for like 5 days. Maybe it is moving up your way now!!! Good for the flowers and all but it is not good for those of us stuck inside with little ones!!!!

It has been raining here way too much, and it's gotten cold again (like 40/50F)! lol Your garden makes me want to hurry and get back to the states so I can start getting the flowerbeds at our house in Kansas looking jazzy :D I have a black thumb though, so I'm not sure if I could pull it off! ;)

Love those stepping stones and that lighthouse! I need to do something like that here - and I'd love to find one of those solar lanterns, too...if I run across any, I'll let you know!

We've had 8 days straight of rain - we might finally have a break and get some sun on Sunday - I'm anxious to get out and start pulling the weeds that are thriving with all this rain! :)
