Boat Races!

..................and now for the continuation!

I know you all thought I would post a picture of the train coming into the station. And, I was going to, until the rain was pounding down at 8:30 pm last night. (the exact time the train rolled into town) And, so for now I don't have the train to show you. I know you are thinking we have all seen trains before, but no, you haven't...not like the one I want to show you.

Instead of trains, I bring you boats!

At the last formal meeting of the Beaver troop they made sailboats, to race at their bbq. The kids are all lined up on the bridge, to drop their boats into the river. (Those little white things in the water are the boats)

Not all boats competed right side up, but that was okay.

The excitement was building, you should of seen the kids run off the bridge (through the goose poop) to get to the finish line to see who was declared the winner.

And, all was going well until......

...some boats just were not wanting to stop when they reached the finish line.

Rusty had to go into the river to fish them out! After all, these boys participated in the river clean-up this spring. Rusty couldn't let boats drift away!

Wow! Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. I am battling to post my comments again. Keeps telling me "programme aborted" - wonder why?

Aww! That's so sweet he saved the boats!

PS I just saw janet's comment above. I too have problems leaving you comments sometimes. You might want to change your comments to a pop up box instead of below the post-those seem to be much quicker in terms of loading. Just a thought!

Thanks! I love comments and wouldn't want to miss one from any of you. So, on Yaya's advice I have changed to this pop-up box. Please let me know if it makes any difference!!

That's so cool that they were able to do it in an actual river. My brother had to do it in a swimming pool.
