We Made it Through the Week

There is nothing I like better than giving a gift to someone. Honestly! This is the truth. I love to give much better than receive. Okay, I like to receive as well.

So when I saw that there was a Favourite Things Swap going on I had to get in on it. I have so many favourite things and I can't wait to find out my partner and start getting to know them, and get a goodie package ready for them.

*****************

And the winner is................Nancy! I held a little giveaway of my own on my UBP post. The winner of the suncatcher is Nancy. I have known Nancy from pretty much the get go of my blog. I hope she enjoys suncatchers as much as I do, and when she looks at it she will think of me. It will be send out Monday. I meant to send it Friday, but things did not go so smoothly on Friday.

*****************

My husband still has a job!! This round of layoffs is over and he is still standing. We feel terrible for his co-workers and friends who lost their jobs this week. So many lives have been altered. I am praying and thinking of these people as they try to pick up the pieces and move on. We are hoping his job will hold out until this economy turns around and he will be able to look for another job.

Thank you to Ashley for sending this award my way. I am sorry for being so behind in posting my thanks for the award. Ashley was another of my first blog friends, and she has disappeared! Ashley's blog is gone, and I am worried about her. Ashley, if you happen to read this, please know that I noticed that you were gone, I miss reading your blog and I hope everything is okay with you!

******************

Have you seen my button? I love my button and I get so excited when I see it on another blog. Thank you so much for taking my blog button, it is such a compliment. I am so humbled that you would put me on your blog. If you are taking mine make sure you tell me so I can bring yours back over to my place.

Thank you to everyone who is following me on Twitter. I have no idea what I am doing, and have been on Twitter for a week. I am having so much fun on it though! Thanks for listening to me talk about what I am doing!

******************

Lastly I leave you with these little beauties.........................

I love them, but something about them remind me of the 80's. What do you think? Is it the colours or the pattern, or is it just me? Either way, that is what I am going to be sporting around town this spring:)

Have a wonderful weekend!

oooh a swap. I may have to check it out. I've never participated in a bloggy swap before.

I like your button. I wish I knew how to make them. Someday soon I'll have to start a spot for other people's buttons on my blog. :)

I don't know how to make buttons either. But I am definitely taking yours to post on my blog. I will also be praying for you and your husband that his job will be secure. I feel for those out there who are struggling through this economy.

Good news on your hubby's job safety! I bet that takes a load off ;-) It is so sad for those who do find themselves in that position though of losing their employment. Our world feels out of control some days doesn't it?

Those shoes make me think... Cyndi Lauper "Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun". Cute... but I don't think I could get away with them ;-)

Have a great weekend. Did your wind stop yet? Ours is a' blowin' today!

Cute shoes!

I did a swap once and my partner was horrible....she got me 7 things from the Target dollar spot that meant nothing, and sent my package late, while I made sure I got her thoughtful things that were "my favorite things". So now I'm skeptical of the swaps, unfortunately, bc I had a lot of fun on my end but was so discouraged.

I can see why they remind you of the eighties but I think they are cute :) Probably the colors/patterns that remind you of then.

I'm afraid of swaps now too. I put together a thoughtful package for that Valentine's Day swap and was delighted to do it but I never received anything back. (I would have at least preferred the courtesy of her telling me she wasn't able to participate for whatever reason.)I don't know that I'll do anymore of them.

It must be such a relief to not have to worry about your husbands potential job loss!

(Yes, we had a lot of rain this week, but today is beautiful!!)

Thanks for stopping by, I wasn't around last night either! The weekend is going well so far, hope yours is too!

I totally understand about your hubby's job situation, my hubby is in the same boat. They keep doing layoffs and he keeps hoping they want to keep him. I sure hope the economy picks up SOON!!!

If you are keeping track of "fans" of your site, add me in! Oh, and I have your button in my scrolling list (they take a while to load tho, trying to figure out a better way to show them...) =)

I need to check out the swap..sounds like fun.

So glad you stopped by my blog.
Don't forget to stop by again. I am going to have a "card box" giveaway every month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing, so if you visit several times and leave several comments, you will have a better chance to win. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party, that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you link to my blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally, but TIME...has not permitted..but I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members and then there will be some fun blogs coming up from Disney World in May. I am so thankful for all my new friends.

It's good to hear about your husband's job! I have the hardest thing expressing empathy/sympathy to others when something bad happens (like losing a job!), knowing that my husband's job is safe. (ESP if it's in the same company!) hats off to you.

Thanks for stopping by today...the sun was out and it was beautiful! I'm hoping that tomorrow is the same way.
