Water Baby

To celebrate Earth day I am looking at my favourite natural resource.

WATER

I have always been attracted to water. Something about it is calming. Although, water can have such force and be very destructive.

I am blessed to live in a town which is situated on a river. You can't go too far in this town without seeing the river. The power of the river is the reason that this town was settled.

There is nothing better than sitting by a meandering stream on a warm summer's day!

...today I am short and sweet, the kids have the day off school!

Wonderful shots!! I love water too. Ottawa has lots, so we're very fortunate. I can't wait for the boats to start going down the Rideau Canal. Then I'll have some nice shots for you, if I can figure out how to use my new camera, that is...

Although I'm like a cat & don't enjoy getting wet, I do love being by the water. My fav is the ocean, strolling along a soft, sandy beach listening to the waves crash.

Enjoy Earth Day and get out and sit by your river if you can ;-)

Hugs

Beautiful photos! Here in California on the news they were saying that we are in the middle of a long drought, which I don't understand completely because it rained nearly every day in February. So they are talking about ways to conserve water on the news. Anyway, Happy Earth Day!

yay for water!

(too bad it doesn't really taste great, I really would like to drink it more but can't get past the fact it doesn't taste as good as coke. ;) )

That is so true!!! I remember once I had this fight with my mom (I was thirteen and well... I was thirteen we will leave it at that) and I walked off and sat by a stream for hours. Apparently I was there all afternoon, it only seemed like a little while to me.

Hope you had a great Earth Day! I am the same way, I love water! I am so glad we have a creek running through our property. I grew up playing in one, catching fish and crawdads building "boats" lol! So fun and there is just something about water, like you said, it is just calming but powerful. Thanks for sharing these pics!

Happy Earth Day!

My son and I were watching a show about caves the other day (part of that Planet Earth series) and they were talking about how water formed all the caves ... it was so interesting. And when you think about it, water is so many different things. Life giving and life threatening. Very powerful but soft.

Beautiful post. Reminds me of vacationing every spring along the ocean growing up and falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing.
