The Sun has Lost it's Sparkle......

Have you heard this in the news the last few days?

What...........

The sun is in a very quiet stage. The sun has a sunspot cyle and right now it is in a very low part of it's cyle. In the 1700's the sun remained in a low for several years, causing what they called at the time a 'mini ice age'.

Are you aware of any of this? I wasn't until I heard it on the news.

Scientist are watching it, the sun doesn't seem to be recovering from this dip.

Take a look at the sun today, has it lost it's sparkle? You be the judge.

How interesting - I hadn't heard that. I will have to take a peek and see for myself!

That is actually kind of scary. I will have to go, obsessively, research this. Gotta go!

First time hearing of this and i am a scientist, shows how much more i have to learn. Can't tell from my side of the world in M'sia as the sun seems so scorching hot everyday

I hadn't heard that...I'll have to notice if it's less 'sparkly' today...although it does make one wonder when it's supposed to hit close to 80 here tomorrow, but there's a 'frost advisory' for tonight! :)

Love these pictures and I haven't heard about this either. Of course today is cooler and overcast cloudy so I can't check out the sun. I just know no matter what goes on, the one who created that sun won't ever lose HIS SPARKLE!!!
I love you girl.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

Hi Pam,

I haven't heard that, but you couldn't prove it by me as the sun hasn't been out for several days. We are looking forward to some sunshine and warmth this coming weekend.

I really love the pictures. I love what Laurie just said abut the Son. Oh how blessed we are to have his sparkle in our lives.

I didn't know about this. I might have to go outside and take a look. Although, today it is kind of cloudy and cooler than yesterday.

Huh, I hadn't heard that. Is it sad I find out my current events from people's blogs?

This is news. The sun hasn't been out all that much this week but it'll be in full force this weekend - we're supposed to in the 80s! Yeah!

That is fascinating! I want to find out more! (Down here in the desert, it still looks bright and shiny..and HOT! lol! We're in the 90's today!)

So much for global warming...
In the 1700's, the mini ice age caused famine throughout Europe and the Thames River ( not ours, the other one) completly froze over. Helen Humphrey's wrote "The Frozen Thames" about this phenomenon.
Thanks for your comment, isn't it funny that local bloggers meet in a U.S. Blog ?

Well... from the feel of it outside... I may just believe these guys. Very strange though... but as I have been reading in Eccl... "there is nothing new under the sun" so I would not be surprised by this cycle of events.

Hope you get out this weekend and enjoy what sunshine we do have!

Hugs

I thought it was cold because I am living in Canada not Indiana anymore, so now I know it is because the sun isn't happy! LOL...Wait today the sun must have been doing well since it was so beautiful here!
