Hitting the Road

We are out of here.

We are heading to a whole other country.

Watch out my American friends, we are visiting your country this weekend.

If you see a blue van with Ontario plates, please don't honk at me, I don't understand Michigan lefts!!

If you see a woman with three fighting children in your local Target, please don't stare. You don't understand we don't have Target!!

If you see a woman at the Carter's outlet store grabbing up everything she sees, and she has sweat on her brow, please take an arm load to the counter for me. We don't have Carter's either.

If you see a woman with this lovely slung over her shoulder.........................

.............it's me!! Make sure you say hi.

This is my prize from the photo contest that you all helped me win.

I have a new love!

You're welcome my American friends, this weekend I am single-handedly kick starting your economy. Yes, I am bringing my hard earned Canadian dollars and I am willing to spend every last one of them in your fair country.

Oh yeah, and if you see that blue van with Ontario plates stopped at the border on Sunday evening... that is me! Paying duty...........BOO!

what a cute tote! OMG, how adorable.
thats awesome you are road tripping out here. I dont know what part of Canada you are coming from, will you be in WA? If you are, there are many outlet stores within about 3 hours. First, there is the one right near the border, and if I remember correctly we got converse tennis shoes there and kitchen gadgets. And I think they have a little train ride for kids, not sure.
Then in Burlington is where you will find shoes, clothes and Carters. My daughter Isabel was a Carters baby because of that store, since we lived in Mt Vernon at the time. Speaking of Mt Vernon, if you come this way, drive to Mt Vernon for the tulip festival. You can buy stuff surely, but the main attraction is the enormous fields of tulips and daffodils. Flowers all the way to the horizon.

I can't imagine not having a Target. Now I'm so sad for you!! And I love Carter's clothes! Ugh, the horror of having neither... Nearly inconceivable! ;)

I hope you're having a wonderful trip and safe travel!

Enjoy Target - it's the best!! And just go to the concession stand before and ask for little cups of popcorn for the kids (they do it for free at my Target). That might help avoid the tantrums!! ;-)

Hey - you want to get some stuff for me at the Carter's outlet? :) The closest one is too far away for me. Have a nice weekend!!

We will exchange our target goods and carter's clothes for some of your cheap prescription drugs!

Just stand across the border and we will toss the clothes for some cheap canadian prozac.

And... we would all like to come hide with our boys if we go to war? Do you have any room?

Love the bag!! I am jealous that you are going to the states, I will be heading down there in a month to do some shopping and visiting family in NY. I believe that if you are down there for more than 48/72 hrs (can't remember what it was) and you don't purchase more than $1000 it is duty free. You should look into this. I know we didn't pay taxes last year on our trip down because we stayed long enough and didn't purchase over a certain amount. Just a thought. Hope you are having a great time shopping down there, I love Target!!

And may I say, "Thanks" on behalf of all your friends in the US for the jump start to our economy. BTW, we are all Americans even thought we in this country have snagged that title.

I just told a friend of mine the other night that Jim and I are doing all we can to boost the economy. LOL

Hope you had good luck on your shopping trip. Michigan loves you, I'm sure.

Too funny! My husband and I joked about going to Canada this weekend. I say 'joked' because we were heading down to Detroit to visit my grandpa in the hospital when we saw the signs for the tunnel. Neither of us had been through the tunnel to Canada before and we thought it would be neat. (Plus we really didn't want to be driving through Detroit, or hanging out in Detroit...we usually avoid Detroit.) We, of course, still went to see my grandpa. :-)

What a cute post Pam. Where did you go to shop? We often head across the Buffalo border to get our Olive Garden fix, but most of our "U.S. Economy Boost" shopping is done farther South either visiting my sister in NC or on hubby's business trips ;-) Gotta love them U.S. stores!!

Hope you got lots of good deals!
Hugs
