Aloha Friday

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Today's Question:

Do you need to buy new spring clothing for yourself/or your children?

How much will you spend? Where do you find the best deals?

I, of course, won't need new Spring clothes because my big ol' booty is the same size as last year!! So much for that year long diet, ha!!

But, we did go out a few weeks ago and get Jake all new Spring clothes. But, it's expected with him being a toddler. We first went to JcPenney because they usually have great deals on kiddo's clothes and then we headed to Target. I browse through OshKosh and the Children's Place but only usually buy if something is on sale. That boy grows too quick for me to be paying top dollar for his stuff. Then, if all else fails, I know Ross will have a heck of a deal for me. I think we spent about $200 and got him a whole slew of new spring and summer clothing, as well as new warm weather church clothes.

Oh yes!! Big time! From head to toe!!! I'll probably go to different places! Gymbo outlet, TCP, Old Navy, and other places for my older kids too!

I definitely do need some new clothes for spring. My children do too. I probably will shop on Ebay for a good deal, but most likely I'll be using Cashbaq. Because it has a huge list of shops that I shop at online anyway, plus they offer coupons for the shops plus you always get cash back on every purchase at any store!

Thanks for the new site, Angie!
I already went for the boys. I went to American Eagle and Aeropostale. I spent about $100 on each child and got about 6 shirts and 1 pair of shorts each. I will pick things up every few weeks all summer so that in the fall, they have stuff to start with. I buy long shorts for them so they wear them a year or 2. I just picked myself up 3 pair of jeans at Maurices, 1 pair cargo brown baggy pants, a few tanks and t's and flip flops. I will buy sandals/flip flops all spring and summer if I can and tank tops and long stetchy t's. I get stuff at Walmart, Old Navy, Gap Outlet, Cato and Banana Republic. I only buy on sale and I like classic pieces mixed with a few trends. I still love the scarf look.

Both of my kids have outgrown their clothes from last spring. (I am having a yard sale today and tomorrow as a matter of fact to say bye bye to them!)

I will probably try to stay around $100 each for now. I'll probably just pick up a few odds and ends for me...nothing too pricey.

I don't NEED spring clothes other than a couple of shirts but I would love new clothes. I am hoping to wait a little longer. Of course my kids do need some clothes, not sure where I will find the best deals. I don't have too many places to choose from here.

My oldest has outgrown a lot of his clothing, and things are worn from him so my little guy needs a few new items. Since we are going to Disney World soon I will also need some new items. I always buy at sales (Target, JCP, Sears, Kohls) and just got some great items at the outlets for the boys.

We don't have Spring here so there's no need to buy for Spring clothes. We always wear the same kind of clothing except for the occasional jacket during the cold months of December.

We don't really have to do that anymore. :)

I need to shop for some Spring and Summer clothing. I like to go to the malls and look around.

I just look for sales so no set amount. Also are you kidding me? Heck, yes I'll be shopping! lol, both of my kids just had some pretty good growth spurts & now my son wears a 28/30 mens pant size & sm mens shirts! He's not even 12 yet but man is he starting to get skinny.

With this economy we are cutting back a bit. We will buy things only if needed. Living on one income means mommy may have to get creative. I don't mean I am going to be making clothing out of the curtains or anything. :)

Both! I don't know how much I'll spend....if I am good...maybe $50-$75 on each of us....if I am bad...well, I'd better not even go there. I like Target and Old Navy for me and them and of course, Gymboree and The Children's Place for just them.
Swing by the IE Mommy to answer my question too!

I'm here at your aloha friday...still in partial pjs but Im here...
Well I dont have much to wear at all since I got so fat but I refuse to buy new fat clothes so I will just be half naked and raggedy all summer until some fat melts off. So that means I will not spend one thin on clothes for me. My kids, thats another story...I just found a bag of old clothes marked optimistically "summer clothes for Isabel" Well of course none of them fit since she grew three inches since last summer and everything looks like it should fit a five year old. My older daughter however has discovered many of her old clothes from 7th grade still fit her and she has squeezed herself into them. I'm not sure if this is a good thing but it will save money for sure. :-P

If I can get more weight off I want have too. ;)
I will be able to fit back into my pre-prego size clothes.
For the kids, I think that we are good this year. Oldest son did not seem to grow a lot over winter.
Guess I am getting lucky and not spending much at all unless, I don't loose more weight. Then I will be spending more. hehe

My oldest will be getting new spring clothes. I seem to be in pretty good shape (as is my hubby and my youngest). I like to second hand shop. I know some frown on that..but you can't beat the deals I can get. Especially considering how fast my toddlers grow out of things. I just can't justify $20 for a shirt that won't last him more than a few months. When I can get something comparable for $3 at a thrift store. Also..if he spills or stains something..its not the national debt. I can afford something new.

I am sure hubby & I will buy some new stuff, we try to buy new clothes every couple of weeks. We will most likely spend several hundred, we don't really need new spring clothes, it's a matter of wanting them really.

I have more than enough for daughter. SOn needs some, but only a bit. I need lots, but I doubt I will buy any (too much other stuff more important). Oh and i buy most stuff at work because I get a discount, or at Target at end of season for clearance.

This made me think of my boss. They buy all four kids of theirs a brand new extensive name brand wardrobe for every season......

I need to get some clothing for myself, but tend to keep putting it off. When I finally get around to it I will check out Ross, Plato's Closet, and Rugged Warehouse!

Mighty M said...

Yes! I bought plenty because of our trip and because I was MUCHO pregnant last spring! But I try to get deals as much as possible. But I spent over $500 between myself, my husband and children. :-)
