Our Family Day Fun

We went to Wings of Paradise, a Butterfly Conservatory.

It is a lush, tropical indoor gardens with butterflies and small birds flying around.

The kids had a wonderful time looking around. This lady had a butterfly land on her, and it just decided to sit. She walked around showing the kids, we actually bumped into her a couple of times.

It is a wonderful place to visit for young and old alike. It is a great learning environment, it is so beautiful and a lot of fun. Yesterday, being Family Day it was packed with small children with their families.

After the butterfly conservatory we decided to continue down the highway to Toronto. It is only about fifty minutes away from where we were. Toronto's airport is on the west end, which we were closest too. Both Matthew and Jillian love to point out planes in the sky, and since we were so close we decided why not? We got off the highway and were able to find the end of a runway. A jet took off right over our van!!

On our way home we stopped and had supper at East Side Mario's. An added bonus - kids ate free on Family Day!! We got back home around 7pm, got the kids to bed and then Tom and I worked on the kids homework which hadn't been done yet!! (don't tell anyone that Mom and Dad did their homework!)

I have to say that our government made a great decision implementing this holiday!

I am so glad you had a great day Pam. The butterflies are beautiful aren't they? We used to take the boys to LAX when they were little and just sit and watch the planes land and take off. It was fun. Love you girl.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

What - looks like such a fun time! I love to look at butterfly's, but I'd have a hard time being enclosed with them and risk having any - gasp - land on me. Bugs freak me out, even the pretty ones. ;-)

How fun! Last year we lived in Iowa, and we had a year pass to a butterfly garden. We went almost weekly. Now you've made me homesick!

"Family Day" sounds like a GREAT holiday, and easier to celebrate than a bunch of mostly dead, Presidents.

BTW, Dr. Phil says to tell you "Hi".
Let me know how you like the cake?
(you're gonna luv it!)
Thanks for stopping by my Blog.
