You Light Up My Life

This week I have received a couple of items that certainly 'lit up my life'.

January is my least favourite month of the year. I find it depressing, Christmas is over, and January just seems to linger and drag on forever. (I think this has something to do with SAD)

This little treasure came home in Matthew's school bag.

This is Matthew dressed as a wise man for his Christmas concert at school, his teacher took his picture and then he made this awesome card. Because, the last day of school was canceled due to a snow storm, it didn't get home until this week. Nonetheless, it is just precious, and something I will treasure FOREVER!!

The other thing that 'lit up my life' , I received a package in the mail!! First, to get something other than bills is awesome in itself. My package came from my Secret Santa - Jacki. I took part in Kori's secret santa, Kori did an amazing job organizing and keeping track of everyone.

Jacki lives in Virginia ( just in case you weren't sure), as I told her I love my gifts because Virginia is very special to us. We are approaching on our 15th wedding anniversary. Fifteen years ago following our wedding , we vacationed in Virginia, this is where we started our married life.

We have talked about going back someday, taking the kids. What great memories we have of this beautiful state and now I have a new friend from there.

Thank you so much Jacki, you made my day!!

I have been at this blogging thing for three weeks now. I had attempted to blog once before and had a really bad experience. This time, however, I am meeting the nicest people. Thank you for coming here and reading about my little life in my corner of this big world. I appreciate the connections I am making with people, after all it is hard to make connections when you are a stay at home mom. Don't get me wrong, I love it, it is a blessing (in disguise) to have this chance to be with my kids while they are young. I do however, miss the adult interaction that you get when you work outside the home. Although, I think I had enough work drama to last my lifetime. So, I say thank you to all who have 'lit up my life' just by stopping by these last few weeks.

Have a great weekend!!!

I love Matthews card. It seems it was meant to be late and get to you now:) I just love the writing too. And great gift Jacki, and the memories too Pam. You are too sweet not to visit here and I am so glad you looked me up. I look forward to our friendship growing this year. The world does seem smaller and more intimate here doesn't it? Love you.

What a cute card that Matthew made, those are the most precious gifts a Mom can receive. Love the gifts from your Secret Santa, I live in Virginia and agree its a beautiful state. I live on the east side of the state near the beach and have taken many, many road trips out to the mountains and up to DC. Take care

Aww what a cute card your son made and he's so cute in it! I also blogged before and then came back. I think part of the reason is that aol sent all their bloggers here and there were tons of them apparently! I was a hit and miss blogger at aol but when they came here I started up again and I find it to be much funner than before! Plus now you can make your blog look all cute.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog, I appreciate your comment. I am still trying to decide when I will read this letter, but I do definitely think I will read it, just dont know when. I have to prepare myself mentally for it! LOL

I totally hear you on the interaction thing - especially in the winter, when it's too cold to go out!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I know how you feel about January. It just seems so blah! I live in VA so if you ever get here again, we have to meet. Everything is exciting now because I live right outside of DC and our inauguration is next week. I will kind of be glad when it is over.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

What a cute card! I know what you mean about being a SAHM and no adult interaction. That's one reason I started blogging too!

What a sweet card! I just treasure those things from my kids.

Also, to answer your last post: YES! I totally suffer from SAD. I become a hermit and never want to leave the house. I'm trying to go out more if it's sunny, even though it's freezing, and it seems to help.

Cute pic and such sweet saying. The gifts are really nice too. Being a sahm can get a little sad especially during the cold winter months, but aren't we just so blessed that it is 2009 and we have computers and online friends. Just imagine what life was like back in the early 1900's...we are blessed. Thanks for sharing!
Hugs, Sandy

Pam, thanks for stopping by my blog. January is my least favorite month too! Around this time I start counting the days until Spring. During this time it's important to find the "little things" that can light up our life. You found a couple of good ones. The card from Matthew is just precious. It brought a smile to my face. Happy Blogging, I hope you don't mind if I follow you.

That card was very sweet. I feel the same about the isolation of being a SAHM-even though I love it- and I think I gat SAD too! Congrats on your blogging!

My first comment did not go through, let's try this again.

I hear you on the adult conversation thing! I love being home with my two year old, but miss talking to adults at work. Although, seeing as how I worked as a 'welfare' case manager there are times that I have more 'adult' conversations with my two year old then I did with my clients. Such is the work though.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, it made my sick day a little bit brighter.

I am so glad you started blogging again. Your kids are darling and you seem like a WONDERFUL person. Someday you will have to tell your bad blogging experience, cause now I am all sorts of curious.
