Memory Lane

My husband, Tom, purchased a scanner last week, with his gift card that he got for Christmas.

We have started to dig out old pictures to scan them to the computer.

It is a bit time consuming, but will be worth it in the long run. Photo albums always tend to get taken apart here by little hands and then pictures are lost.

How did we survive without digital cameras? We haven't even had ours for that long, but taking a roll of film in to be developed now seems so old-school. And then, waiting the five days to get it back!!

This is Emily at roughly the same age as Jillian is now. Jillian looks so much like Emily did, I keep saying that Jillian can just look at Emily and see herself in the future.

It makes me happy that they look so alike, I don't think that my sister and I share much of a resemblance. But these two, you can look at and know they are sisters.

This is Jillian at her second birthday party.

Don't judge the highchair she is sitting in, it was purchased for me when I was a baby, almost 37 years ago. My parents have kept it all these years. Myself and my brother and sister used it. My three kids, and now my sister's baby.

They just don't make things like they used to do they? This was even manufactured in Ontario. Everything we buy is imported now. Sad, isn't it?

And on that note, I will end this installment of a trip down memory lane!!

I LOVE my scanner too! I've got about 20 photo albums (not joking) that are filled with pictures and memories. Every week I share a few pics on my "Memories On Monday". Yours would be perfect too! Love the picture with "your" highchair. Hand me downs are the best for stirring up wonderful memories!

I love having all my pictures on the computer. We scan old ones in the computer too. It is a better way to make sure we never lose them.

oh my gosh if I scanned all the pictures I took before my youngest daughter was born, I'd be here all year!!! I should try though, to do the best ones. I've done this with portraits and school and sports photos so at least I did that. Do you store them on your computer now or make a disc? I upload my pictures to york.com in addition to making a disc of them (the digitals anyway) At york you can store them forever and if you order prints they are btween 8 and 10 cents each and get mailed to you. I think its awesome and could never pay the 29 cents a print that Target asks for!!

Sadly nothing is made in America anymore. I've been searching for products to post as Made in America on my blog...but have only found a single item so far, my hubbys Danner boots!

Scanners are the best! I used mine all summer to save 13 years worth of photos...time consuming, yes...but completely worth it!

Love the highchair! Kids are AdOrAbLe!

Nighty night!

Such a cute little girl!

I've scanned some of my pictures so far, but it takes so long! I have a ton of pictures that I really should upload - it's a great way to protect them if anything were to ever happen to the originals.

Well done on getting your photo's sorted out! We don't have a scanner - must invest in one soon! Digitial is definitely better! What precious girls!

I just love to scan old pictures! You are right, I have no idea what we did before the digital age. I do remember often standing at the counter trying to figure out if I wanted to pay the extra to get photos back in 1 hour or a few days!

I need to scan too before all our pre-digital pictures deteriorate. My MIL has the high chair that my husband and his siblings used. It was pretty rickity and the seatbelt was lacking in safety. Sometimes I held my breath when one of the kids used it.

It is amazing how much they look alike in these pictures. I love it Pam! I have a scanner too and am going to have to do my favorite pictures from "long ago" before the digital age:) I think your kids are just the cutest and love watching them grow up here. I love you.

Love and Hugs, Laurie
