These are words that make a mother's heart soar. And I heard them the first time this week from my two year old daughter.

Jillian had tubes put into her ears at the beginning of the month. We discovered she had a hearing impairment back in July and waited to see the ENT specialist in early November. He retested her hearing and told me that she did in fact have fluid in her ears and his recommendation was tubes as soon as possible.

A sleepless night before hand (on my behalf) and we were to the Clinton hospital at 7:20a.m. She had her procedure at 9:00 and we were walking out the door at 10:00.

The difference is amazing. When we walked to the car she heard a crow!!

Jillian goes to speech therapy once weekly, and though I know it will be at least a year, I am very encouraged. She is attempting many new words that she didn't have before and she seems happier over all.

I am so proud of this little girl.

Hi Pam,

What a precious gift from Jillian this week. It's amazing that it only took an hour to have the tubes in. I am happy for her and for you. Her little world has been opened up for her and before you know it, she will be talking your ears off non-stop.:) Music to your heart. She is so cute in this picture and I just love that little doll she's holding. Wish I could see it's face and know where to get me one for my granddaughter Hannah. I got her a Groovy Girls Ruby Mae doll three months ago and she drags that doll everywhere she goes. Easy to grab an arm or a leg to carry.
I see that you folow Ashley's Journal. Did you read that she is getting out today and able to go on holiday vacation with the family? She has been through so much! Okay, I better stop chatting for now. I hope your weekend is a wonderful one and want to thank you for your visit.

Love and Hugs, Laurie in Ca.
